Thank you so much for reminding me about the Venture Bros. It’s a wonderful show, and it’s a million times better than Rick and Morty.
Thank you so much for reminding me about the Venture Bros. It’s a wonderful show...
This is true but I have nothing meaningful to add. Have a nice night op.
Thanks :)
So what are your hopes for next season?
Also I kind of wish they could just cast a nice stable voice actor the next time they make a character that might be prominent. I get the feeling they constantly end up writing around the fact they might not be able to get/afford the bigger actors they keep casting.
It is really good, but I don't see any reason to bring up Reddit and Normie. Makes it sound like you're seething. Then again, the popularity of Rick and Morty is unwarranted compared to the quality of Venture Bros.
No problem.
>There have been 19 episodes of Venture Bros since Rick and Morty first aired
>There have been 55 episodes of Venture Bros total, over 17 years
>There have been 36 episodes of Rick and Morty thus far, over 7 years
Venture Bros is like eating caviar and Rick and Morty is like eating a cheeseburger, but you're getting an awful lot more cheeseburgers in the near future.
Rick Sanchez vs Rusty Venture
Both can call in allies
Who wins?
Rick is meant to be at god levels because of how OP his super science is, Rusty isn't even that good in his own universe
I'd wait patiently in 5 year increments for the rest of my life if it meant a steady stream of VB. Good shows prove its all about quality, not quantity.
rick because he's just stupid OP
The Monarch would go on a warpath that Rick would never be able to handle, JUST to keep Rusty alive for himself.
Venture Bros. is objectively better in terms of the scope and character building but they're going after different things. Rick and Morty often packs a lot of great bits into singular episodes with pretty good stories while a majority of Venture Bros. episodes after season 1 would be kind of incoherent to people new to the series and unfamiliar with the references. Does Venture Bros track at all with zoomers?
The allies clause is the wildcard that could flip it for Rusty. Rick's got nobody who would go to bat for him, but Doc gets to call in Brock Sampson who thrives on the kind of chaotic, kinetic combat sequences Rick tends to create, and guys like Orpheus who can throw a wrench in things by putting magic in the mix.
Also takes a million years to come out with a new season
I'm reminded of the ridiculous super-soldier Rick fought when he was Pickle Rick as a sort of stand-in for Brock. The fight was pretty even, but then again you have to remember that Rick was a PICKLE at the time, wearing power armor he made out of rat corpses in the sewer.
And there was a whole episode that dealt with Rick and magic, and it basically threw him for like a minute and then he made it his bitch like he makes everything his bitch.
True, but has the opponent ever built their careers on countering the Mad science experiments on the daily?
Rick because his fights always boil down to him being a Mary Sue and pretty much nothing else.
>it’s a million times better than Rick and Morty.
it is, but why even make this point?
I keep thinking Doc Hammer works on a salary and is worried about what is going to happen when the series is over when he finally calls it quits. I'm 27 years old, how much longer do I have to wait for it' finale?
Brock beats Rick any day and everyday.
The difference is that Mad Science in Venture Bros is mostly the impractical boondoggles of overly theatrical cosplayers. The OSI's best asset seems to be a sense of awareness coupled with cynical practicality but even then they constantly fall into the universal pitfall of loving a good play fight with dumb toys.
For instance, Red Death is a threat worth getting serious about for the OSI and he basically checked in to tell them he was coming, running down the street on a flaming robot horse. Rick will just shoot to kill with his OP tech without a second thought.
So Rick only wins because his show sells the most?
Am I the only one that dislikes now that it's all about Superheroes and Villains? I miss the Johnny Quest/Boy adventurer stuff.
Nah, the organized villainy aspect has been a large part of the show's world since day one and is pretty much the connective tissue that holds it together. There's still the OSI, and super science areas. The globetrotting kind of had to come to a halt with Hank and Dean's clone deaths and now we get to see the ramifications of such a terrible upbringing is affecting them as they make their way into adulthood.
>it’s a million times better than Rick and Morty.
I really don't think the shows are all that comparable
This, and I like 'em both.
Christ, I cannot WAIT for a new season of VB.
Am I the only one who noticed a drastic change in Dr. Mrs. The Monarch's voice in season 7? It seems like doc has given her a higher pitch now and more of his lisp, which really sounds weird compared to the earlier, much lower voice she used to have.
What is the next step of his materplan?
I don't think it's drastic but I definitely noticed a change, yeah.
He has no Master Plan, he genuinely just wants to help the forces of Evil be all that they can be. Tipping the balance in favour of one side is not on the table, and even puts down 3 of his Bretherin who tried to act in their own self interests and disrupt the natural order.
SPHINX!
It's interesting because both shows have gone in 2 completely different directions. Venture Brothers decided to embrace the lore and continuity-heavy episodes, while Rick & Morty is aiming for episodic stuff, more so with this season.
Venture Bros is great, just wish there was more of it, but I guess the wait in between seasons makes it all the more special when it drops.
