In 1 week, the Classic DA layout will be phased out permanently... moving onto the more modernized DA Eclipse layout. Thoughts?

Sounds about right
I can't think of a single DeviantArt design change that people actually liked.
So where are they gonna move? Tumblr?
So they're just changing the layout? Like an app update? That's it?
Ins't DA Eclipse still straight up unfinished with several basic problems?
Pixiv changed its layout without even notify us.
unless they gives us blacklist, I dont give a fuck
I'm just going to stop using it. It's not worth all this aggravation.
It removes features.
One that bothers me is that you can't remove items from your watchlist while you're looking through them.
I'm not an autist who is bothered by redesigns but it tried browsing stuff and it won't let me set it up to show new stuff first, that is enough to drive me away.
Is the Stash feature still going to be around? I got a ton of shit there.
GODDAMN IT BROS, I DON'T WANT TWITTER TO BE THE ONLY SOURCE FOR ARTISTS, IT'S TERRIBLE TO BROWSE CONTENT.
If they just kept the classic icons for stuff, especially the yellow PM notification, I'd be fine, but no - mobile steamrolling all the way.
But several other long-standing things in my life have changed recently, so I guess I can batch them all together as an end of an era.
I've dealt with tons of changes on various sites throughout the years but just lived with it because what can you do. But this new design, while sleek, is slower, buggy, removes entire sets of features, degraded some features...
The site is still more than functional, it'll probably stay fine as a gallery site (which is all it's really good for these days anyway), and Hell I actually kinda of like the overall design. But its under-the-hood business is a fucking joke.
Eclipse is at least better programmed. Can't block anybody in vanilla without the page system completely breaking in search results.
Will you still be able to download images at their best visual quality?
What layout? Classic DA died out ages ago
Blacklist already exists, user.
I don't really care, since I never used Deviantart anyway. Not really much of an artist desu.
I fucking hate eclipse or "dark mode" on any website as a forced design meme aesthetic. Or whatever the current "go to" trend for advertising seminar types. I hate advertisers in general, but when it fucks with functionality or tool usefulness, i stop using the product.
How do I keep track of when people on my watchlist add new things to their favorites folders? That was why I was holding out on eclipse for such a long time.
It's like Twitter and Instagram. You are suppose to just scroll thru what everyone you follow is posting.
anyone know how to get rid of this glitch?
but you still can see their shit, isn't that so?
it literally doesn't work for me, even on my newer browsers, so that's going to kill a lot of their dwindling userbase off.
what's amazing is they've gotten NOTHING but negativity from this since it was first announced, but they're still pushing along. I have to wonder what the motivation is
I've literally heard people say "well it's okay my gallery is all just traced art, DA is moving toward more of a social media platform than an art gallery anyway"
yeah we're fucked. we thought the internet was a good place for us, but it turns out nah, you have to be in the majority or you're out of luck everywhere.
no
that's just incompatibility with that browser. things are increasingly splintered these days, and new plugins and applets seem designed to break as much as possible unless you're using exactly a certain browser and setup.
Also that doesnt look like eclipse? but then I can't even get comments to load. Also I can't find where it shows you recent comments or replies in the new notifications page
>what's amazing is they've gotten NOTHING but negativity from this since it was first announced, but they're still pushing along. I have to wonder what the motivation is
They sunk enough of the subscribers' money into this, and they're going to make it worth the waste no matter what anybody says.
I'm ready for the storm.
Some of the comics I follow are going to abandon the platform, others intend to stay.
Either way, I'll continue to look for comics to storytime.
>having to scroll through hundreds of pictures because DA got rid of Pages
I just want Pages!
>having to scroll through all your favorites to try find one picture
>can’t use a search on your favorites
>no pages
>having to scroll through hundreds of favorites
How is this suppose to be easier?
I dont want block an user, I just don't want to see some kind of shit like some ships or some characters for example
That's twitter.
They recently made their new design the only one and it's absolutely terrible.
Easier for your phone. Laptop users can fuck off for all DA cares.
But I use a desktop.

The new layout isn't that bad but it's definitely worse. There's so many more clicks you have to do and there's no real advantage to the new layout. Everything is awkwardly laid out and it's not intuitive. But the site is struggling and this new layout is just going to drive people away and there's already better alternatives for many artists. This isn't as bad as Tumblr's porn purger but it's not doing DA any favors.

And nothing value was lost.

I didn't know there was a way to get the classic layout and stopped using it.
I would have kept using it if I had know there was a little tick box somewhere.
Or does this mean it is changing AGAIN and the weird black "clearly made for a tablet/touch-screen Windows 10" design is the one going away?
it's OK when japan does it.
The tick box goes away forever on the 20th.
SJW is still active unfortunately.
also the limit is 500 users
Still not a phone, so unimportant to DA.
in fairness it was always a terrible platform for comics
not that that stops the modern fonebased comic hosts, who act like they're literally the only choice
i believe they finally put back pages
for a while that was missing from -regular- DA
grow up I guess? that's not reasonable to expect as a feature.
