It’s already been in Canadian Netflix for a while. I’ve watch the first four episodes, does it get better?

Have the re-releases fucked up the visuals at all?

no

Only season 2

Is this the first time the show has been available in HD? Last time I watched it was before Korra and all I could ever find were sub par DVD rips.

Yes

The show is phenomenal.

maybe

no.

Rewatching the series, I forgot how short the entire thing is, and how Zuko only joined team Avatar halfway through the last season.
Still holds up extremely well, but seeing it again I realise the team should've been more suspicious of zuko.

I don't know

why would I? I've had digital copies of this show for over a decade

rewatching it again makes it more obvious bryke are fulla shit when they claim they never thought about stretching it out to 4 seasons
DOBS was originally supposed to be the second season finale. It should have been the season 3 finale.

from Book 2

Cool, Katara is in basically every episode

Is this the new Aang Design?

why would i watch katara scenes that don't have azula in it

I already own it on DVD and Blu-ray

That's his Book Three design

poorfag

Why would you bring up Azula when talking about best girls scenes

hell yeah. I've only seen it once when I was a kid through checking out the DVDs from the library, so I haven't ever binged the series from start to finish. I think I'm gonna rewatch it, and then watch Korra for the first time so I have the lore fresh in my mind

It's been on kimcartoon and various other outlets for quite a while. I am planning on rewatching it again though.
The idea that it's all supposed to happen in under a year's time doesn't hold up. Every episode has to basically be literally the day after and before the previous one.

imagine how good a live action version of this COULD be if it did everything right. theres a lot of things the cartoon couldn't do because its a kids cartoon, like the political stuff, and it never gets as dark as it probably should. The Crossroads of Destiny and Azula's coup could be 100x better in live action (and actually make it make sense....). it could improve on the show just by recreating what the show already did and adding in more scenes and character interactions in between.

No. There’s been an HD version available for a while, though it’s fan made.

Nah man live action would be trash

Isn't it already up? I've been watching it since the pandemic hit.

Personally I like when shows/movies have to work within the censors and still address serious/"adult" themes. It takes more skill for things to hit as hard as they do in AT:LA compared to GoT.

LOOKS LIKE KINO IS BACK ON THE MENU. Season 2 is the peak of western animation

>like the political stuff
*inhales*

There's your deep political commentary in 2020.

I'm not saying live action ATLA should have sex scenes and gore or anything, just that the themes that are already pretty dark get the proper gravitas that you can't really give in a childrens cartoon. like, child abuse? genocide?

Episode 9 for me is when I realized this is god tier series I was watching

I'd say those were already there as much as they needed to be. Not that they can't be expanded on but there's no real need to.

i know, i'm just saying in an ideal fantasy world where people write stories just to write a good story not to make an ideological statement.

When is that live action show they’re making going to be out?

i don't agree

The official blu-ray is based off of standard definition footage. There is no official HD, only a fan recreation using AI rendering.

its only the best Zig Forums show of the 2000s

never

Nah man, live action is just not a good medium for historical fantasy unless you have a titanic budget. Otherwise animation is better, in fact in general I prefer animation even over live action with massive production budgets.

I'm with this guy, the series did a really good job showing the toll the Hundred Years war took on so many people and societies and whatnot.

having a titanic budget is obviously one of the things that would have to go right, though.

I think that's debatable but I agree with you.
