Sine it's 6 fucking episodes long, I really hope they get into more detail about the technical stuff, instead of the usual lame excuse of a making-of material they include in the blurays

It's going to be 3 hours of the voice actors talking about how impressed they are with what the animators have achieved, with some b-roll of a guy messing with an arm in Maya, and you'll love it.

god I hope not.
I remember reading in an article last year that this special isn't gonna beat around the bush, and actually show how intense making Frozen 2 was, instead of being a vague and generic peppy overview of the production, like a lot of these behind-the-scenes specials are.

hopefully Disney allows that to be the case, instead of meddling with it....

>I remember reading in an article last year
pardon my vague wording there, here's the article:

>that hair
is this Anna before she takes a shower?

>April 11, 2019
wow, I had no idea this was announced that long ago.
Thanks for sharing it, user.

I assume hair comes later in the process, with some other top secret proprietary program, making it shampoo commercial-tier

I'm more concerned by the FNAF faces on the screen.

What this user said: Having a fully rendered hair while animating is just too heavy and unnecessary. You simulate the hair after animating the character, fix some details by hand, and call it a day.

are you twelve

I'm gonna get mad all over again, aren't I. Fuck Frozen 2

I read that as:

I thought we were getting a series like tangled:the series, now I'm sad and disappointed.

user, FNAF has a general in /vg/

Pretty much the same response I wrote here but this time regarding materials and light rendering. You don't need all that stuff while animating.

I know absolutely nothing about animation and even I can tell that's just a tool to move facial features

Did you know?

Robert Lopez, The songwriter of Let It Go, wrote songs for The Book of Mormon

Josh, the voice behind Olaf is one of the two lead characters in the musical

It's a pretty baity sentence. OP knew what he was doing.

Wasn't he also the songwriter for Avenue Q?

What's with the archive.org links? Are we trying to avoid giving Disney traffic?

It's a formality around here.

I imagine it's in case the thread is archived or the links change.

I did not know, because I have never seen a musical, because I'm not a rich person who lives in a major city

Ok, that's understandable. I've only seen it on Zig Forums and it's specifically done there to link an "unpopular" site like Kotaku to avoid giving them hits

Not him but I've never seen a musical either, but I've watched recordings on youtube and listened to their OST. I'd say there are some pretty good songs out there that you're missing out.

It's the same with Frozen 2 on Broadway being cancelled.
Isn't that something that only a few hundred people should care about at best? That's how many people fit in the theater, right? And the "cheap" tickets are like $1800?
I just don't understand why I see so much angst about it online.

even if they never go in person, fans obsessively stalk the actresses and bid for used playbills online, it's just Disney mania

>I just don't understand why I see so much angst about it online.
In my case at least, it's more like a joke angst, like being sad for Anna and Elsa having their show cancelled. Just something to have fun with.

Frozen is getting an 2D animated series like Tangled did? But that image still looks 3D.

Read the OP again, very carefully.

It's called having empathy. These people rehearsed for weeks and weeks, sets were built, tickets were sold, all for a show that will never premiere.
As a former theater geek I'm biased though.

I can definitely understand that. Live theater is a whole other world compared to film.

FARC need their cute princesses too.

Frozen honestly was always having sales for their tickets. They were hoping for a boost after F2, but was probably going to close next year anyway. I got amazing seats for it last year, for under $100, with the original Anna and Elsa. I don't live in NY, but my city is a train ride away, and student/rush seats aren't difficult to grab.

I was going to go see it again it in April, because I love Ciara Renee, so it is really disappointing that she only got to perform for a couple weeks.

Your average show has tickets in the 150-400 range. It's Hamilton that has scalpers selling for 900+
