Power Girl thread

I have a problem with that character. She is Kryptonian si she is one of the most powerful heroes on Earth, yet she's completely irrevelant - just a guest star at most, in Harley Quinn's run for example. Can she be fixed? Can she be A-team?
Also, her being a clone of Supergirl bothers me. Don't you think she should be Kryptonian of her own, like second cousin or even aunt of Kal-El or something?

I know her only because of the tits..
I don't know her backstory and shit

I like her again since her New52 shit is no longer canon and that means she wasnt blacked so she still pure and nice

Just stop pretending she has any pathos and give her fun, witty stories with plenty of cheesecake. There's a reason everyone goes back to Amanda Conner's take on the character

Any character can be used in a narrative. The year 2020 may not be friendly to someone not in a burka.

>Also, her being a clone of Supergirl bothers me.
I thought she was alternate universe

Superman and Kara should be the sole survivors of Krypton. Power Girl is just boring, has no supporting cast, and isn't original. I have even tried to come up with ideas for her but have failed at every turn.

she's not a clone of supergirl.
powergirl is an older, more developed version of supergirl from earth 2.
i hope to god she stays away from dc films (they more than likely would get idris elba to play kara as a trans woman in a wheelchair).

fucking truth.
pairing her with mr. terrific and black superman. the fuck where they thinking? also giving her the 'S' in world's end. and reducing her tits. for fuck sake.

Yes but it was stated that physically they are the same person, PP is just older.

She is still not a clone

What I meant is that they share the same DNA. Which is strange since she's clearly taller and has bigger tits that Supergirl. Just make her another member of Superman family fro Earth 2. Not Kara Zor L.

Have anyone seen her nipples before?

Harley and Powergirl kiss powergirls BF horse when?

But she isn't betraying her race.
Val Zod was kryptonian like her

Same problem with Captain Atom. He is easily more powerful than Superman. But DC treats him like a total jobber. Just look at what Gotham Girl did to him.

Val Zod is a traitor that got Earth-2 Superman kiled and contributed to Earth-2 being destroyed.

i'm honestly suprised there has never been an instance where lobo and power girl meet up.
lobo has met 2 or 3 versions of supergirl, but never power girl.

Earth 2 would have been destroyed without him.
Superman died much before Val Zod went out his cage

He did.
In 52 he meet her with Starfire

And he was bland as fuck even blander than John Stewart and I never thought that a black character could be more bland than Stewart but I guess when you only focus in the color of the skin of the character this are the results

that's correct, only in the DCAU is she a clone

Please, name some of those stories. I'll happily read some PP stuff.

She works better as part of a team read her JSA stuff is pretty good, avoid any New52 related and if you want read some Infinity inc stuff with which is okay and I never read her JL Europe stuff but I heard mix reviews about that book also fun fact in the JLE she wanted to fuck Arthur lol but he was loyal to Mera

JSA doesn't interest me, user. Don't like those old school costumes, especially Green Lantern and Flash.

Poor choice of words. I meant she shares DNA with Supergirl.

Then there is really much for PG, sure you can read her solo series from 06 but thats more for the art than anything else
You can also read her JSA Classified story but I know some people here dont like that story because they dont like Johns

That's what the thread is really about - making her relevant and interesting character.

Apart from this guy nobody seems to have any idea how to fix that girl...

Right now, she just needs someone to give a damn about her. Give her something interesting to do, add a personal angle, make some new relationships with other DC characters or expand on existing ones. She needs standout stories to be a standout character.

PP threads are quite popular tho', it's not people don't give a shit about her apparently and her 2009 solo run had positive reactions. Also, since she is the most abused character in DC history (even Superman mocks her because of her titties) she has people's sympathy.

Serious Mode proposal: Make Power Girl the 'original' Supergirl in-universe, while keeping her alt-universe clone status against 'our/the native' Supergirl.

They've been reintegrating into canon a lot of Superman's history so a "Grand Design" of all his eras from Golden to Silver to Bronze to Post-Crisis to Modern is canon in at least broad strokes, right? But a Silver Age Supergirl and 'early years' sidekick (of a sort) is frequently missing. So have Karen Starr become the "Silver Age" Supergirl, the upbeat "Secret Weapon" who grows up into the confident young woman who then becomes the snarky, genre-savvy, proud woman that is Karen. It's just she has identity issues on who she is Post-Crisis till learning of her true status as someone not just from another world but *universe* once the native Kara Zor-El/Danvers comes, and in some modern-day story to be written integrating her into becoming said Silver Age Supergirl, she and Clark realize they're still beloved relatives to one another from their shared early years together and she fully joins the Superfamily again in a Nightwing-like capacity while Kara Danvers is marquee'd as "Supergirl" for marketing purposes. She can be a sassy older sister type to Kara Danvers, Connor, and Jon Kent.

Boom. Peegee now has a 'history' within the mainstream continuity and Superfamily, whilst keeping her own special status as someone from another universe, and you reintegrate a lot of lost Superman history in an era that otherwise is still fit into his canon in some form (like how Dick as Robin in the Silver Age and leader of the Titans in the Bronze Age happened in some form, because he was that in real-time).

But the problem right now is that there is no good writer for her:
Bendis and Tom Taylor: They would focus on blacked her again and superficial aspects like she is better than Superman because reasons
King: Will write a PG in depression for her Earth and she would try to kill herself half into her run
Snyder: Will make her edgy and giver her a new metal armor and that the Batman Who Lols planned her return a million years ago
KSD: Blacked PG and muh feminism
Tynion: Can be good but he has his snyder moments that fuck everything
Williamson: His run would be bland like his flash run but without major damage
At this point maybe someone like Abnett his last work with a female character (Mera) was really good
