What happened?

There's some genuinely good and fun ideas in here.
Muttley being in hell and Dastardly actually being broken up by it, Bruce Falcon being forced to live up to the expectations brought upon by him being the son of the Blue Falcon instead of growing up, Shaggy being broken up about losing Scooby, etc.
It feels like there was something really good here that got lost after the execs rubbed their greedy zoomerbait fingers all over the script.

Eight different writers.

What are we talking about?

skook

Man they REALLY want this HBCU stuff to be a thing.

I'm in if they include CN characters, shows like Dexter's Lab, Johnny Bravo, Powerpuff Girls, Cow & Chicken etc.. were made by Hanna-Barbera

indeed. there are plenty of decent plot points and motivations for all these characters, but as said this film had too many writers.

Is that supposed to be Atom Ant in the lower-left?

It quite literally feels like they ran down a checklist of things they wanted to include from popular franchises, most obnoxiously a superhero universe inside another cinematic universe like a nesting doll.

This isn't a strong argument, since the final product is weak as both a Scooby Doo story and a Hanna Barbera introduction.
It would've been better with either a shit ton of characters or none at all.

Huh.
So you mean to tell me, there's a verison of the film where Jabberjaw and Grape Ape showed up?

Is it me or did they change Jabberjaws gender?

>Mystery Inc unironically did a better job incorporating HB lore into its narrative and made it feel like an actual universe
Wyatt is a treasure

they did, she's gonna be female in a new cartoon on HBOMax as well

Are they implying Jabberjaw is now trans?

>sharkgirl

I highly doubt it. C.H. Greenblatt probably just wants to prevent his Jellystone cartoon from being a sausage fest

White Thanos

>lego movie 2 flopped and they gave up the rights
>scoob sucks
where do they go from here?

Your zoomer is showing user

Greenblatt is fuckin' based in my book, so I don't mind.
meanwhile Warner Animation Group probably wanted Jabberjaws to be female so they can "up their gender diversity quota" or some bullshit

Create actual original animated movies that don't cynically ape a previously established brand/franchise?

more generic schlock like Storks and Smallfoot

>Storks and Smallfoot
what the flying shit, I forgot both of those exist

Storks was good. Smallfoot was...mediocre.

>Gets no respect
>Turns into a woman
kek.

How can you make an uglier atomic ant?

Does Birdman show up and help them when they get in legal trouble?

I place full blame for Lego Movie 2 flopping on Ninjago. Having Ninjago in the same fucking year as the Lego Batman movie was a horrible idea that caused fatigue to set in, and they also placed too much faith in Ninjago as a brand.

maybe then (s)he'd get more respect
