Nah, Kataang was a million times worse than Korrasami.
seething zutaran
Why do you care?
Proof?
Joke's on you, after Digimon nothing affects me.
Who cares? The better couple got married and will start an industrial dynasty that will span the stars.
>implying anyone cared about Korra
Retard alert.
I honestly don't understand Zig Forums giving a shit about this.
>a bunch of characters are bisexual
So what? What's wrong with bisexuality?
That's not the problem. The problem is that it started a trend of characters becoming gay/lesbians at the last minute for brownie points, along with an oversaturation of gay characters in general.
Actually the out of nowhere thing was only really true with Korra and Asami. Bubblegum and Marceline had a good bit of buildup and most people guessed. Harley and Ivy had shit from Bruce Timm. In the reboot Catra and Adora were pretty obvious the entire way through. The Steven Universe stuff was also very obvious.I think bisexual to some extent people are pretty common in real life, it'll be a long time before people aren't guilty and we know how common, even anonymously we know that even people consuming gay porn don't admit they might be bi, just go to /h/ and /d/ to see this in real time so anonymous surveys are worthless because of being in denial. See how popular futa and traps are. They may or may not be gay but that's pretty bisexual.
Agreed.
The Clarence episode that revealed Jeff having two moms came out only a few weeks before the Korra finale. Korrasami didn't singlehandedly "cause" this trend and claiming so would be revisionism.
Off the top of my head, there's also Jackie Lynn Thomas, the space lesbians in Voltron, the abnormally large amount of lesbians in Craig of the Creek, Sadie Miller (dating a nonbinary person who is likely biologically female.) and Susan Strong.
Yes, Bubbline and Catdora had some build-up. But that doesn't discount other examples of laziness. And while people IRL can secretly/unknowingly be bisexual, having a character discover this off-screen and immediately hook up with the same sex is lazy writing.
No one watched Clarence, at least compared to Korra. Korra was HUGE on Tumblr. Maybe Jeff's moms helped ease cartoons into the idea, but Korra was the one grabbing peoples' attention.
>all weebs and lesbians who watched Sailor Moon and Utena back in the day
Pst nothing personel kid
Bryke wish LoK was Utena. The latter is a real example of a lesbian pairing pushed by the director but screwed by external forces (in this case, Chiho Saito), nevertheless got tons of development, both individually and as a pairing. The show became a cult classic and later the pairing got canonized on a movie, not a tie-in comic
>The Chad Ikuhara and the virgins Bryke
Ikuhara is a pretentious cuck and a bigger hack than Bryke could ever aspire to be.
>thinking Kataang was somehow worse than Korrasami
Faggots.
>Susan Strong
Wait, Susan Strong is gay. God fucking damn it.
It wasn't very impacful. The reason for all the lesbians recently is more likely because of SU and the political climate outside of comics and cartoons.
That said, Korrasami ending is utter garbage and should never have happened.
>they dyked susan strong
Since when?
Bruh that was season 8, like three years ago
(Also they could just be gals being pals, iirc it's never outright stated that they're involved)
>Also they could just be gals being pals, iirc it's never outright stated that they're involved
Then you guys are just being fucking retarded, as always
I´ve never gotten around to see Uthena, but ins´t it notorious for being one of those 80s shows that had a for the time controversial theme (lesbians) that never went beyond the implicit?
It proved three things:
1. If you write a horrible, shitty show that nobody likes you can still salvage it by pandering to homos at the last possible second.
2. Homos will defend and shill for anything which they think "represents their interests" without ever looking at context.
3. The Avatar franchise is dead and will remain dead forever.
Zig Forums saw it being teased in season 3 and have spent 6 years being assmad faggots about it after realizing shippers weren't the ones being trolled.
One of the characters, Juri, was very explicitly in the closet. And her relationship with the girl she was into is complicated and a little heartbreaking. Also, somewhat convoluted.
It’s how many years and zutarans are still booty blasted
Oh and I know the "WHERE ARE THE GAY GUYS!" posters: pretty much every dude except for maybe Tsuwabuki had some kind of gay encounter or interaction. Usually involving a car.
The Legend of Whorra was ass and proved Bryke were hacks that got too much credit than they deserved with ATLA.
The ending was just a cheap trick to shield the show from criticism.
Name one (1) thing wrong with this ending without sounding like a butthurt incel Zig Forumstard.
This. Korrasami was shit because it was a bit unwarranted. I do not recall any gay relationships prior and they decided to make Korrasami front and center in the last minute out of shock value. This is contrary to Steven Universe and She-Ra where gay was right on the tin since the beginning.
That's where you're wrong. Shippers have spent 6 years trying to convince the world their ship wasn't a last minute asspull, despite that very obviously being the case.
It was a break away from established character traits. Essentially an out of character moment without proper build up or relevance to the story being told. And it takes away time from the ending that could have been spent on relevant conclusions to other characters and relations that did matter to the story.
