Ok, now that She-Ra is finally over and done with, how about a He-Man reboot thread (not the Kevin Smith one)?
He-Man and the Masters of the Universe

wait so there's going to be a reboot?
I like the crew behind it. I'm surprised Jeff Matsuda is back on animation. I just hope the CG isn't too cheap. Trollhunters/3Below had decent CG, but they reused a lot of assets.
Yup.
I honestly dont think it will ever surface due to all the bullshit copywrite stuff
from what I read it was suppose to be a continuation
That's the Kevin Smith series, MotU: Revelation.
I like the fact that there's a name missing from these posters: DREAMWORKS.
so there's... two remakes...
Yup.
One is a reboot, the other a continuation.
why do they need two?
>anime
Castle Greyscull looks bretty good
It's just Netflix way to rebrand "anime" as their own thing
The Kevin Smith show is rumored to be a TV-MA continuation (and ending) of the old, Filmation-influenced canon, followed by the other, which will be a 3D CG hard reboot squarely aimed at children. Both supposedly have a 2021 release date.
Their term, not mine. Take it up with Netflix, and the tardbuckets who believe that any non-comedic "mature animation" is automatically anime.
Maybe I'm just reading too much into it, but I just find it annoying. As if being "anime" is some kind of badge of honor, being branded "anime" makes your show be taken seriously. Note that I don't hate anime, I like animation of all places it's just a pet peeve of mine
I can't wait. If y'all thought the She-Ra salt was bad, this will be the world's most lucrative mine.
It's purely a marketing thing, "anime" is now a hip thing among young people and if you're making a serious cartoon with non-CalArts designs it will be branded as "anime".
Same studio as Castlevania, what did you expect. They made the three male heroes from the games pussywhipped, pussy enslaved and fucked in the boy pussy.
I bet Adam is gonna play second fiddle to Teela like Trevor does with Sypha
these had better just be promotional if they make the show in this style it'll be absolute garbage, I just want the same cartoony stuff from She-Ra
The fact that they plaster "original" over all anime they get the rights to gets me more frankly. Even if in this case it's actually true. The original part, anyway.
Don't think that this going to happen. The same Mattel team that created the modern MOTU comics, is in the production of both the new MOTU animated series. So i expect the new He-Man series to be a bit more Fantasy and world building around Eternia's mythos.
>people buying into a tweet made by an outrage tuber that was directly debunked by the showrunner
I understand user, it just tickles my autism. Just wish western animation could be taken more seriously without the need of the "anime" crutch
True, sometimes they even do that shit with things that aired months before. Dunno why they even do that, I doubt normies care about it
I don't agree with the tweet (in fact I think giving Tesla something to do outside of annoy Adam is great), I'm just using it as an example for why people will literally get angry over anything. She-Ra was a dead franchise best known for Skeletor's "wat" and people had a meltdown over the changes given to that. We know next to nothing about either of these reboots, so the kindling of flame wars is primed, and I'm so so excited to see people scream about how they made He-man slightly too dark or how Mechanek was gender-swapped, etc.
I hope this shit about it being like Games of Thrones is an exaggeration or fake news too

Or who dies.
I like to imagine Chris Diamantopoulis as He Man, Jeremy Shada as Prince Adam, Sean Schemmel as Skeletor and Tony Hale as Orko in the CGI Reboot.
Excited about this, it's got a pretty great team behind it
>House of Cool (Ferdinand) and CGCG (Star Wars: Resistance), both of which worked on Netflix and DreamWorks’ Trollhunters, will provide the animation.
>Rob David (Masters of the Universe: Revelation) developed this idea for TV and executive produces the new show with Adam Bonnett (Descendants) and Christopher Keenan (Justice League, Batman Beyond). Jeff Matsuda (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) and Susan Corbin (Voltron) will produce, while Bryan Q. Miller (Arrow, Smallville) serves as story editor.
Blurb for the CG reboot:
>On the planet of Eternia, a young lost prince discovers the powers of Grayskull and transforms into He-Man, Master of the Universe! The classic battle between He-Man and evil Skeletor rages to new heights as both hero and villain forge new and mighty teams.
A new generation of heroes fighting for the fate of us all. In the end, who will become Master of the Universe?”
There's going to be a cast shakeup between the two shows, as well.
The edgy sequel no one asked for. I cant wait for also to be blacked and dyked
