While I agree that COVID-19 affected some of it, the full statement is "for the six months ending March 28". The parks only closed mid-March, so if you wanted to be gracious and say all of March was lower because of coronavirus that's still only 1/6 of the timeframe.

This line further down is more indicative of the dip:

When 21st Century Fox was acquired they were drowning in debt, so part of that dip included cutting redundant resources in the company and general "cleanup" from that merger. Just due to the size of both companies it will likely be at least 2-3 more years before they're fully merged, although the further they get into the process the less extreme the costs will be.

Disney has never been in this situation before, the need to survive can change everything.

Dude, Marvel comics hasn't turned a profit since the 80s. They exist as R&D for movies and TV shows, and given that Disney is adapting Ms. Marvel and Ironheart for D+, they must be pretty happy with them so far.

The actual comics division of Marvel Entertainment is an exceptionally small part of Disney employing ~500 people at top estimates with a yearly revenue of less than $40 million. They're nothing in the grand scheme of things when compared to licensing and the films.
