It’s that time again, Ultimate Marvel bread. Is it still worth a read? Would you like to see Ultimate Universe fully return?
It’s that time again, Ultimate Marvel bread. Is it still worth a read...
Ultimates 1 & 2 was okay. The final run had its moments. The Ultimate Galactus trilogy was acceptable. I don't know about X-Men and Spider-man before 'Ultimatum'.
But it's done.
Why couldn't she have gotten powers, it's not fair
Even if she had to get turned into a half fish alien for it
Ultimates 1
Ultimates 2
Ultimate Spider-Man until Bagley leaves
Hickman's Ultimates
That's what I like
If it returns I want like one writer at the helm to outline exactly what the Ultimate or whatever attempt at another Ultimate should look like. At most, have like three writers on it to rein each other in. They should map out what should NOT be and what SHOULD and some rules that should NOT be broken (people die and stay dead kinda rule, fakeouts are fine). Ultimate was a mess that devolved into nothing once it was tested as a cohesive alt universe with events and such. There needs to be some accountability.
Ultimates 1 & 2 as a test-run for a "What if Michael Bay did the MCU?" (granted, with a better story than Michael Bay could deliver).
The first 24 issues Ultimate X-Men for more of the same but on the Sony-side of licenses.
Ultimate Spider-Man for a pretty wholesome re-imaging of, well, Spider-Man. Stop when Bagley leaves.
At least we got more Carol with Gun.
I'm not the biggest fan of the Ultimate universe, but goddamn... Ultimate Carol was fine as hell! Blonde, busty, beautiful.
MurderCarol with Gun.
>a better story than Michael Bay could deliver
Really? That good?
A popular opinion.
Wasn't dead is dead a rule for quite a while that got broken? At the end of the day all editorial mandates will eventually be broken.
Bring it back as either...
> (A) A unending stream of 4-5 issue mini series, no more than 2 releasing at the same time so people don't get burned out.
> (B) A Future Quest Presents style anthology book.
How does she always continue to be one of the best girls?
She's a best girl.
> "does this make my ass look big?"
> "Yes honey and that is such a good thing!"
Pic related Ultimates line up idea.
Working on a secondary science team.
> Iron Man
> Sue Storm (emphasize her thot-ness that caused Reed to go genocide half the world)
> Ben Grim as Wonder Woman (yes I actually liked his change in the Ultimate Doomsday Trilogy)
> Janet brought back as Jocasta as was teased in Ultimatum.
> Vision (the female one from after the Ultimate Galactus trilogy)
> ???
> ???
Ultimate Avengers Kill Crew
> Carol (given some kinda powers)
> War Machine
> Black Knight (the cyborg version from the west coast ultimates)
> Hawkeye
> Red Wasp
> ???
> ???
>> Ben Grim as Wonder Woman
Wonder MAN my bad.
>Into alcoholics
>Into superheroes
>Into Krees named Captain Marvel
>But she didn't meet 616 Carol in Ultimates 100
Ewing why
Add Jess Drew to the Kill Crew?
Maybe add Spider Woman to the science team?
And replace Carol with Fury on Ultimate Avengers.
Ultimate Thunderbolts
> Carol as leader and ideally given powers (make her into moonstone???)
> Red Wasp
> Quake
> Harry Osborn / Hobgoblin (if ultimate norman can return to life 50 fucking times I imagine harry has by this point)
> Omega Red
> ???
>> Omega Red
If I had my way and a foot in the door I’d love to try and convince them to do a Shonen Jump kinda thing.
>phone book sized comic collections
>it’s the west so has to be in color so I’d say like 15 bucks
>it will be ultimate line again or fuck it do ultimate like universe again
>all titles in one book
>if you ever want to do an event it can tie into all titles within book
>do just like Japan, if a particular title is not catching drop it from the book
>Is it still worth a read?
Only the Bagley issues of USM
Ultimates 1 & 2 in a ironic post-9/11 mindset
The Bendis/Millar opener for UF4 and Ellis' run
Hickman's Ultimates
Ultimate Human
The Galactus trilogy
and Ultimate Adventures, just for the lols
>Would you like to see Ultimate Universe fully return?
It made sense in the post-90's pre-MCU era but now it doesn't.
Ultimate Doomsday is better then Ultimate Galactus.
>Ultimate asspull
Sure it is
In what comic did they reveal that the Doctor Doom that Ben killed after Ultimatum was actually Mary Storm.
Thanks!
Yeah, I mentioned it as an example of a rule that got broken and what shouldn't be repeated. I understand that mandates will be broken at some point but I'm hoping a brief stint in an alt universe like Ultimate would only last around 5-7 years this time so it's more controlled.
Too late, user. I demand Ben Grim in a Wonder Woman outfit.
>Working on a secondary science team.
I actually "worked" (read; "wrote" fanfics in my head) on this for a bit. It was an AU, from the ground up. I'd call it "Ultimate" and have it center around the way such minds and tech would change the world around them. It'd be set in three different eras ([current day], cyberpunk future, sci-fi/space opera), and focus on one or two characters but with a secondary central cast each time. To make it a tad different than the usual stuff I shuffled characters around. Meaning that in the current timeline, the central characters would be Stark, Doom and Pym, plus various AIM-affiliated members and the Intelligencia. That setting would be mostly based on the emergence of machines, power armors and the like, so characters like Cap, Hulk and such wouldn't exist. The Ultimates/Avengers of that U would be highly trained SHIELD guys in quasi-Iron Man armors, for examples. It's an attempt to streamline the narrative a bit. HYDRA would be a short-term terrorist group created by Doom, for example, and AIM would be the premier organization that keeps evolving across the different eras. The F4 would apear in the Cyberpunk era, alongside AI Stark, a descendant of Doom, Machine Man, etc. Galactus and some alien races would show up in the final, far-off sci-fi era. We'd keep going, expanding the universe and going bigger and bigger, but the cast would be streamlined, it wouldn't fly off in a myriad directions to cover every genre and theme.
I'm rambling now, but I saw that theme for a team and remembered that.
