Do you consider "peak human" a super power or not? Because some of the things that a peak human is capable of doing is just ridiculous.

In a way because if Batman didn't have better genetics than 95% of humans he never would have been able to accomplish what he did. It's like saying pic related could become Batman if he just trained hard enough and somehow gained 50 IQ points. Batman was born with rare top tier human potential.

Meanwhile here is Dwayne Johnson at age 15 and already 6'5. Probably in the top 5% of unrealized athletic potential.

maybe if they don't throw peak human/olympic level status so easily but almost everyone has it.

It's as much of a superpower as writers need it to be to suspend disbelief for characters with no powers. The term being handed out like candy to street heroes is the issue because it loses the meaning that was already poorly explained at the start.

We don't even know what peak human is like remember people back back then weren't even above 5'10 (rarely they might be) can an irl peak human perform crazy feats like ozymanidies catching bullet with his mouth or have natural photographic memory?Probably not

Catch a bullet? Probably with a bulletproof glove and a lot of reflexive training, but it's going to be a low power and low velocity bullet. Some people already have natural photographic memory, or at least the closest thing to it.

Peak human barely even applies as a descriptor to characters it's applied to like 99% of the time. You're not a peak anything if you're surpassed by any naturally born individual, you're just exceptional.

not sure how DC does it but the Marvel Universe guidebooks use the olympics as the baseline for superhumans so if your performance as an unaltered human goes beyond that, you're peak human.

No without any assistance that's like counting guns that can kill rhinos as a physical "human feat"
>Photographic memory
Maybe if you you're an autist
I believe in a comic about ozys past he trained with monks and dismembered a bully leg by himselfas a child

other than detective work, how often does eidetic memory come out as a vital superhero skill/feat?

Is it even a "superpower" in the first place? Also idk but i did see such feat in ben10 ultimate alien where Ben remembered a passage word for a magical door just by looking at for the first time

I just imagine that humans can do more in fictional universes. 'Peak human' is just an excuse for writers to have the characters do silly unrealistic shit, so I don't think about it too much.

Shit, he's like a real-life Jojo character.

Since Cap was retconned to be a superhuman in the 2000s who do we really have left that's "peak human"? Batman and Daredevil, but who else?

And yet Captain America can still mop the floor with every Olympic athlete.

>Because some of the things that a peak human is capable of doing is just ridiculous
Mostly just Batman does crazy wankery despite not having any connection with any source of superpower

I guess you can count in the archers of the Big 2, but they are really they only know how to do one thing properly.
Some martial art character that isn’t related to mystic art, i can’t think of anyone.

Not much into power levels but I’m pretty sure any marine could kick the ass of any curling squad.

I didn't mean fight, I meant that the shit he's done means he'd be able to beat all their records.

that's only after the 90's.
For the majority of Cap's lifetime he has been a pretty powerless dude. The supersoldier serum was just "olympic level man". He was no different from any other powerless hero.
After the fetishization of the genetic enchanted soldier he turned to be buletproof and able to run as fast as Cheetah and as strong as Spider-Man

Batman isn't "peak human," that's just batwank

meant for

Show me a scan of 616 Cap ever being as, strong as Spidey m

>Show me a scan of 616 Cap ever being as, strong as Spidey m
sure

It's clearly a super power, Captain America being the perfect example of it.
Cap has a body that can do a Hafthor lift, a Usain Bolt charge, a Kenyan marathon run, swim like Phelps, take cannon balls to his stomach like that guy I forgot the name punch as hard as Tyson, acrobatics like Cirque du Soleifags and etc and this is a super power because a normal human body can't do all of these top level performances of several atletic fields at the same time, but thanks to the Serum, Steve can do it, he just doesn't have all these skills (since there's techniques involved) but could potentially develop it all and of course he would do much better

Meanwhile Batman is supposed to be on top of his own genetic peak, which is regularly what a top gymnast could be (since he took that path of martial arts, gymnast body type works for all the required strength and nimbleness) plus his mental fortitude is a extra (so the meme willpower is his real superpower).
Batman can't be a powerlifter or run like a cheetah
A good Batman writer should have this in mind to not turn him into a Captain America and this is nice because it gives room to other members of the Batfamily (usually not super powered) to have their perks, like Nightwing being a much better acrobat

While that is ridiculous, it's still not Spider-Man level.

I don't really consider it at all, really. There are some things you just have to suspend your disbelief for, and Olympic level athleticism in a comic world being more impressive than anything the average athlete in the real world could pull off is par for the course. It's no different from scientific characters excelling in multiple disciplines.

what kind of body type would permit such flexibility? the typical roided out look might give cap the necessary strength but not the flexibility for swimming and gymnastics

>While that is ridiculous, it's still not Spider-Man level.
wha's Spider-Man's level?
He lifted an autobus once

Lifting one of those old cars is pretty ridiculous and clearly beyond "peak human".
Though yes, not peak Spider-Man by any measure.

a peak human is probably something like Mike Tyson + an ancient Kung Fu master + advanced tech suits

I think the biggest thing Spider-Man ever lifted was a single building he held up.
