Was his turn at the end of Book 2 necessary
The first step of his arc (The Blue Spirit) is also the best episode of the season
>muh Vegeta analogue
Yes otherwise the stuff with Iroh doesn't work later.
vegeta is a fucking faggot and one dimensional as hell
he literally just tags along after the frieza arc and his personality never changes. he goes from being a dick who wants to destroy the world to being a dick who wants to be as strong as goku. he doesn't want to save the planet, he's just tagging along and doing whatever goku is doing
>but muh family
if vegeta had a wife and son on Planet Vegeta i'm sure he would have cared about them just as much. being an asshole doesn't mean you don't love your family
>katara butting in on his finale because "the power of friendship"
>when in reality zuko would have been much better off if he just had any self confidence and decided to face his sister alone
>in the end, zuko's foolish insecurities and belief that he needed a nanny to help him beat his own little sister, almost got him killed, and denied him the victory over Azula
>but muh zutara
hahahaha
>only two guys goes to his parties
many episodes later
>everyone goes to his parties, even the bully that can't stand him (downgraded to being able to tolerate him).
Zutara is such a low-tier ship. Tokka is for the thinking man.
please don't summon those people in this thread
Eyyo what's wrong with Tokka?
Best ship in the series.
Do the french count as western?
wrong
Yes, he needed to reject the Fire Nation while he had daddy's love and attention, and the respect of all his people; not when he was an Earth Kingdom waiter.
And he also needed to do it out of his own will, not because Iroh was telling him to.
Yeah, I think it was. The story benefited from giving him the chance to get back into the good graces of his fucked up family and social position, what he thought he wanted in Season 1, and come to terms with how, given everything he experienced on the outside, this was no longer what he wanted. It was no longer something that would sit right with him morally, and realize that he had not regained his honor by pleasing his father at all, he had lost it. It gave him an opportunity to confront Ozai directly during the Day of Black Sun and vocalize this as he left to help Aang.
>Blah Blah Blah muh shonen final battle has to be epic
Nigga, Zuko's character arc was about honor. By choosing to take a hit for someone he acted honorably not based on the honor decided by his family. He acted on what wqs honorable to him, that's a conclusion to a arc.
it would have been 100x more honorable and fit better for both characters if Zuko had a moment where he held Azula's life in his hands and chose not to kill her even after everything that's happened between them.
There is no closure between those two characters as is.
Aang got an epic laser show for his action climax and his character arc was choosing peace over violence.
or he knew there was much more than honor that's at stake and opted for the win.
If we're allowed to count DCAU all together I think Bruce's arc is one of the best if not most depressing ones. Supes from STAS to JLU is pretty good too.
Zuko is a pretty good one if we only look at one series though.
Azula was an insane wild animal who was incapable of closure in any sense with her brother. As Iroh said, she just needed to be taken down.
Most shallow take I've ever heard, but okay.
how long was supes possessed by starro again?
>please iroh do my thinking for me
you reddit types are the worst...
It’s definitely up there. Teen Titans had decent character moments too. Lots of old cartoons had good character material, especially 90s shows like Batman, X-Men, and Gargoyles. They were more episodic, though. Movie-wise, Up and Toy Story were pretty good too.
he already had moments that showed his honor and friendships
he didn't need to job to Azula AGAIN for the millionth time
Tuko is better ship prove me wrong you can't
not that long, Supes was already wearing the black and white suit at the time so it was around Beyond time period when it happened.
For some reason almost everybody including Bruce Timm and Paul Dini mistakenly thought he was wearing the blue and red tights and had Starro on him for years.
