Studio was probably thinking "We're a real movie, we need REAL actors to be in and promote our theatrically released movie", I assume.

Because these studios are run by people who do finance math, not creatives. These are people who do not trust opinions, nor do they have opinions of their own, because they don't watch movies. I'm not joking.
