Why does Viacom hate Avatar so much, Zig Forums?

Why does Viacom hate Avatar so much, Zig Forums?
There's so much contempt and neglect towards the franchise.
It took 13 years to get an official blu-ray remasters and it's only in 4:3.
The soundtrack's never been officially released, every song you've probably heard is audio ripped straight from the show or reconstructed.
No merchandising, nothing.
Why are they so embarrassed by it?

It's not live action, so they consider it "kid" stuff and not worth their time.

Is that why they're rebooting it in live-action? So it could be considered adult?

Eh, they let it finish its run, gave it a sequel series, a live action movie and a live action reboot, comic continuations, BD releases, etc. Today's action cartoons should be that lucky.

Satan trips confirm

>No merchandising, nothing.
You're joking right

A few t-shirts and maybe some cheap video games but not a massive merchandising push like toy lines and such.

They originally expected it to make Harry Potter money but it just ended up just doing fine

>A few t-shirts and maybe some cheap video games but not a massive merchandising push like toy lines and such.
There was a toyline, dumbass

>4 Aangs, 3 Zukos, 2 Sokkas, 2 Fire Nation mooks, 2 Rokus, Zhao and Bumi but no Katara
I was a hardcore "girls have cooties!"fag as a kid to the point of randomly hating Powerpuff Girls for thinking it was a "girls' show" but if I had been collecting ATLA toys even I would have also bought a Katara figure for completion's sake.

>There was toyline based on Book 1 that bombed and didn't even have all the characters
The cope is strong with this fag.

>Harry Potter money
Really?
Why did they expect that? It was an animated TV show they barely marketed.

that's never happening, they're going to replace it with an animated show instead because the virus delays are costing them too much money already.

You said there was no ATLA toyline, I proved you wrong. Don’t move the goalposts

all the "toys" are so hilariously godawful

Well, it's not like they can put blowtorches on Zuko's fists.

>only in 4:3
That’s how it was made, they’d have to DBZ Kai it and remake the whole thing to do a real 16:9 version

Wow, one failed toyline of cheap Chinese plastic waste and nothing else in the entire run of the original series. You really proved me wrong.

Viacom is the least competent media company and long has been

>Least competent
You mean Sony?

Why do the jews seek to destroy Star Wars so much? It's a bastion of western idealism.

Viacom is only one step behind Gisnep as the Satan of entertainment media

The Diamond Select collector figures also came out last year. You would have known this if you did a quick google search for “ATLA action figures” you goddamn retard

Now you're just stretching, the diamond select stuff is a neat step in the right direction but from what I can see it's just three toys. Wow. How impressive.
Of course, you have to cope and harp on it like a faggot because the point is lost on you. These toys exist, obviously, but do you see them advertised the same way as Star Wars, Pokemon or Lego toys? Do you see them produced en masse? In fact, do the general masses even know they exist? That's the fucking point, you autistic piece of shit. It's the apathy to even promote their own show. But go on about how "erm they exist so your point is invalid." They're collectors specialty items at best for manchildern, not for kids.

>These toys exist, obviously, but do you see them advertised the same way as Star Wars, Pokemon or Lego toys
It’s not fair to compare ATLA to the largest media franchises in the world, most IPs don’t bring in that kind of money.
Also time is a factor; Star Wars is 40+ years old and Pokémon is 20+ compared to ATLA’s 15.

Because they fucked up hard with the live action movie and the sequel series, so it's hard to justify investing more into the franchise.

>It took 13 years to get an official blu-ray remasters and it's only in 4:3.
The show was originally broadcast and produced in 4:3 so there really isn't much they could do otherwise.

I wasn't moving goalpost because my point wasn't that there were no toylines, you assumed that was my point because you're an autist with no reading comprehension. But that were was no massive merchandising push with them. I put "like" instead of "with" but the end result would have still been the same, the problem is Avatar toys didn't sell well and weren't effectively advertised and therefore didn't advertise the show. Is exactly it, they failed.
They failed so hard it only had toys of season 1 characters and ended. It only took nearly a decade to finally get new toys and it's three characters.
You got to be retarded to think they were "massive marketing pushes."

I wouldn't really count collector figures as part of a toyline.

>Why does Viacom hate Avatar so much, Zig Forums?
It's not SpongeBob.
>There's so much contempt and neglect towards the franchise.
Only because it cause so much contempt and neglect towards funny animals.
>It took 13 years to get an official blu-ray remasters and it's only in 4:3.
But that was a upscale, people wanted the animated the original animation to be reshot/recolor in Korea like with The Simpsons' seasons seasons 13-17's Blu-Ray releases.
>The soundtrack's never been officially released, every song you've probably heard is audio ripped straight from the show or reconstructed.
Every episode was individual scored like with Tiny Toons & Animaniacs, a soundtrack could not be done anyway.
>No merchandising, nothing.
A few toys, fuite snacks and games but thats it, this is before John K got exposed.
>Why are they so embarrassed by it?
Because it's immature for something that is supposed to be taken seriously.

How is that not fair? That was the whole point of shedding light on its lack of merchandising when compared to those IPs. ATLA's age doesn't even play a factor, it's only five years younger from Pokemon. Ben 10 and Cars are merchandising powerhouses and they're younger than Avatar.
Avatar never brought in that kind of money because of neglect from Viacom who had no idea how to market an action series when they've only dealt with comedies.

>Every episode was individual scored like with Tiny Toons & Animaniacs, a soundtrack could not be done anyway.
That's retarded, they had to have had audio files. They talked about releasing it for years and never did so because they thought there was no demand.

its not SpongeBob and they cant milk it forever

There's constant 24/7 merchandise

you're right its not spongebob. its more like the star wars of cartoons. they're easily getting another 10 years out of it.

How is the quality of the blu-ray remaster? I don't really care about the aspect ratio, I prefer watching programs with the framing that was originally intended rather than awkward letter-boxing.
