Chapter 76: Page 20
Been a while!
-----------------------------
Would you like to play a little game with Mort and Annie? Well here's a simple one I made over on itch.io! It doesn't take long to play!
Gunnerkrigg Court

Neat
I cannot remember anything that would explain why this robot bird is significant or where it came in the story before
>niggas whining about not seeing the toks for ages in a recent thread
heh
so what's she doing with it
Feels like a reskin of your standard Unity platformer tutorial but The animations are pretty cute.
Kat's been spying on Annies
It was last seen ages ago, and I think only once.
Waaay back toward the beginning. They patrolled the bridge between the Court and the Forest. I think the Court did never officially explained where they came from or what their function was, maybe even that they themselves didn't know.
My guess here is maybe this is leading to a reveal that...Kat made them? In the future? It would explain why the chapter page shows Annie and Kat in their old school uniforms.
Looks a bit fucking terrifying but at least she seems to be just a little ashamed of her god damned biomechanical monstrosity
Kat still hasn't forgotten about his bird boyfriend.
that was me
audibly gasped
jesus it's been an actual decade since these were even acknowledged i think
>WAAHHH I CAN'T REMEMBER THINGS, COMIC BAD
The game is cute.
I hope Tom recruits a small indie team to make a Gunnerkrigg Court video game.
Maybe if you were at least a decent writer, Tom
Oh shit, are we about to introduce time travel into the plot to explain the tic-tocs?
One has to wonder. When ysen found the 'dead' one that saved Annie from her fall, it was growing machinery like a mechanical cancer. People assumed that was the Bismuth thing but it might be Kat's biomech tech in the future.
I don't think she's done anything with it yet since it's still being built. Could be her wanting to seek out the original Annie by some means though.
>audibly gasped
Same.
Oh shit you might be right.
>well ya did it
very cool game tom
>Polly shouldn’t be.
It's kinda been there for a while. Like how human believe can cause things to happen retroactively, apparently creating Jones millennia before life even existed on Earth. Now we have Annies from different timelines.
Maybe the reason Kat was doing scanned on the Annies was to somehow target the timelines and examine them.
Please no.
I hope Kat gets arrested for animal abuse!
Now I'm remembering that Kat's first spark of inspiration for creating the robotic biotech came from thinking about a bird's wing.
If this is where we're headed, Tom's done a lot of preplanning for it. Or at least planted a lot of hints.
Fuck off, Tom
Oh boy, here we go.
Fun!
>The two seater sybian Imaa drew once is actually a time machine.
Coyote was lying about the court being an attempt of becoming gods. In fact it's only purpose is to help mantain the paradox Kat created with her weird birds.
>i gave this bird a HUGE swinging pair of balls
>make a rainbow cord
>add in the trans flag
I was about to make a joke about it, but no. He actually did. That motherfucker he- goddamnit.
pointy annie!
>Tom can crank out a colored strip AND make a video game
How does he do it, lads?
We've been theorizing for ages that the birds come from future Kat. It was pretty obvious since they're robot (Kat's thing) birds (also Kat's thing).
Kat dropped her taste for birds a long ago tho so it feels a little less natural now.
By having a buffer, unlike some other wrist artists.
Feels like your standard tutorial stuff but he made new assets for it.
>playing the game having a bit fun with it and its music
Then I realised. It's nice it's designed for desktop users with keyboard control, but...Does that means it's no playable on smart device? Not an issue for me, but wouldn't it be for most of his readership? O does it detect if a physical keyboard is connected and automatically switch the controls?
It doesn't work on phones.
wasn't someone complaining about how the tik-toks haven't been brought up in a while a few threads ago?
