How would you continue Stevens story?
Do you think a mini series about Steven driving through all of America on his own getting into new adventures and discovering himself would be interesting?

Do you think a mini series about Steven driving through all of America on his own getting into new adventures and discovering himself would be interesting?
I was thinking a book series along those lines would be cool. The Answer and CYM adaptations had nice art so you could model it after them
I imagine every episode would be it’s own self contained story
>Steven gets stranded in the desert and has to figure out how to get water and survive in the harsh land
>Steven while driving finds a girl who’s being attacked by a mob gang and has to protect her
>Steven goes to a city and has fun netting new people
>Steven gets into car races for fun
>Steven has to stop a robbery in a small town
And other story ideas would make a fun mini series if done right showing Steven discovering himself and making an identity for himself out on the road
I wouldn't really rely on the show's staff to do this, since I think they've proven that they're not really interested in this, but a travel series following Epilogue-Steven could be a good chance for further world-building.
Like I remember that earlier in the series a lot of people were interested in the whole concept that there had been some kind of alternate history what with the different shape of the world map and the US Seal being different and all, but the show never elaborated on this any further.
Steven traveling across the US could be a chance to explore this and have brief glimpses of new locations with the implication that an alternate history had shaped them. Like I said though, I think the show's creative staff kind of demonstrated that they never really had much interest in that concept.
Political thriller about President Stevonnie acting as a galactic emissary/rockstar onboard Lars's ship while dealing with the machinations of the Sneople within her government.
Jaspeven in space
Steven Universe seems to take place in an alternate universe where Russia got nuked.
It’s weird to think but I think this kind of thing would work best with someone like Genndy Tartakovsky
He knows how to make a slow paced story focused on a single character
I can imagine a lot of it being atmospheric scenes showing Steven driving and exploring this attentive version of the USA showing story and world building just through animation alone
Nuking somewhere doesn't sink the landmass into the ocean.
Could be a myriad of different reasons that the map is different in that universe.
No, and there’s two reasons why.
First reason is that I’m sick of him. I find him annoying and unlikeable. He’s either too much of a pushover or a raging baby. He’s one of the least interesting character in his setting so he ends as a lame protagonist.
Second reason is because his story is over. Even as someone who hated Future, I’m aware that’s the final step in his story. It’s his epilogue, the culmination of all he has gone through. To continue the story would make Future pointless, because then it’s not really an epilogue, just the last season until it comes back in a later date. I hated the way his story ended, but the fact is that it’s the ending Rebecca gave him. Any continuation with Steven traveling America and making new friends would feel like extra content just for the sake of “more” SU, not for any meaningful reason.
The only way SU could continue and would interest me is if they focus on Jasper. She’s one of the most interesting gems in the show and never developed. She’s the only gem left that you could do cool shit with since every other gem rushed to their happy ending. Otherwise, don’t bother
>Since they've proven they're not really interested in this
How? I've not heard anything about that
I like this idea
>steven is boring
yeah
>they sould focus more on jasper
I don't get why people are so obsessed over her. she had the least screentime and barely contributed to anything. Does jasper has anything other than "muh diamond" at this point?
Steven is one of my favorite characters in the show tbqh
She has a lot of agency and pushes the plot forward. If you're a plotfag I can see why you'd like her. Otherwise she's a decent character and her stuff with Steven in Future was a lot of fun.
she makes the baby boys pps go up, that's literally it
I might be jumping to conclusions, but by "proven" I just mean the fact that it was never really elaborated on at all within the show. I guess it's possible that the staff had plans and they were just all cut for a lack of time to explore them. But I think it's more likely that they never really wanted to do any more than put out some brief implications.
Seconding, very cool idea.
I wouldn't.
You're gay show is donezo. Stop making threads about it.
Oh right, that makes sense.
>pushes the plot forward
getting punched by lapis and turning into a corrupted gem to not be seen rest of the show surely pushed the plot forward. she also barely done anything in SUF besides destroying the trees and getting shattered momentarily by steven.
But why bother exploring the world when it has consistently proven to be so shallow? Governments don’t care about aliens coming to earth, people seem to be aware of gems and monsters existing, nobody has implemented lost gem technology in history, there’s no religion or racism, etc. To make an interesting story would imply Steven moving to a completely different world that has an actual interesting setting. The way everything is portrayed in SU is that it’s just our Earth but with less in it. Not sure how that would be interesting.
Motherfucker if you think people will stop talking about SU just because it’s over you are dead wrong
Just like gravity falls and legend of Korra you are going to be hearing about this show for years and years
I would remake SU from the scratch with a capable crew and turn it into a Teen Titans/Avatar esque show.
It’s not who she is, is what she COULD have been. She’s the most fucked up disturbed character in all SU with a personality and past that could create great interactions with the rest of the cast. There’s a great deal of stuff to do with her, but the show never uses her as anything but a plot device. She’s a tool that makes Lapis, Amethyst and Stevens characters move forward, while she herself never gets any development because once her use is done, she’s discarded. But the fact that they never did anything with her besides treating her like a punching bag only adds more things they could do with her in a spinoff.
Now I don’t think that will happen because Rebecca is a hack and can’t seem to bring herself to do an actual interesting story with SU, but it would be great if it was possible.
I don’t know about Jasperfags but I like more the potential of her character more than what she actually is right now. She’s severely underdeveloped so I can see why you don’t like her current self.
At which point it wouldn't be SU anymore. Might as well just watch She-Ra if you want that sort of thing.
Hack =/= Doing something other than what you want.
Why is every SU criticism like this?
exactly. you can't hope to get anything decent except for more onion episodes with the current crew and plot. SU don't stand a chance unless a hard reboot.
>Steven becomes a banker
The only story that can come out of that
>focus entirely on the protagonists drama and put everyone else to the backside
>barely do any worldbuilding and make the planets from this space fantasy boring and hollow (we see more of Homeworlds underground than actual Homeworld)
>no consequence for anything since bad guys get instantly redeemed and past fucked up actions like Malachite are never brought up again
>Epilogue is a repetitive mess that ignores previous episodes events for the sake of a message that has no merit since a timeskip fixes all of it
But sure user, Rebecca isn’t a hack and makes tons of interesting stories that are well written. That’s why an interesting character like Jasper was used as a plot device and was never developed. Because that’s what good shows do!
I posted this idea in the last big Steven thread we had, but since this thread is specifically for continuation ideas:
>Steven has been out and about in the world for about a year now
>He's been doing odd-jobs and various other things to get by
>But he's also made a few new human friends and has become comfortable with being human himself
>He's kept in contact with his friends in Beach City, but now he's about to officially go back, bringing his new friends along.
>However, they notice that some creature has been following them from the shadows. A creature not quite Gem or human.
>The first night after Steven's returned to Beach City though, Steven captures the alien.
>It turns out this alien is apart of a rival species to the Gems who's been investigating Earth.
>The rivalry between this alien's species and the Gems goes back to the beginning of Gem history itself
>There's been a peace between them since Era 1, but the relationship between them is deteriorating.
>This is mostly due to a rogue group trying to reignite war between the two
>In this new series, Steven will try and balance his role as a Diamond, his life with his new friends, and his life with his old friends as well as try and prevent war from happening.
>Along the way, he learns more about Gem history, especially the beginning of it all and the creation of the Diamonds.
>However, war begins to become inevitable, as someone he thinks is his friend tries to groom him and his Diamond powers to make him attack.
>And he learns not everyone can be redeemed
If I continued the Story of Steven, I would adapt it into a change of approach scenario where he meets many groups of people (in conflict with each other) who may or may not abide to his whims of being peaceful and remain in their old ways. Here we see the Gem boy release his true colors and chooses to either resolve other groups problem or resort to going back to the Diamonds and using Spinel's weapon to form the unwilling into his own image. Eventually he crafts Earth that way, erasing the memories of his kin through this process and overpowers the Gems, taking control of the planet and making Connie his one and beloved.
>Steven arrives to Detroit
>Tires go missing
>Steven arrives to Philly
>Tries to solve a fight with hughs
>Gets beaten to death
>a smoll hobo spits on him
You seem to have forgotten Steven's injuries heal instantly and has superpowers.
Very interesting, but a lot of what you posted goes against the messages of the show. Not saying that’s good, I hate a lot of the elements of this show, but it’s how it is. Sugar doesn’t like unredeemed villains, Steven having the role of a Diamond or having any alien species besides gems
What a stupid question
>cool concept: there's a lot to explore with a "perfect" gem born solely to fight in a fake war who develops an obsession with proving she's "perfect" and being strong to compensate for failing the diamond she devoted her life to and no longer having a purpose or war to fight in
>well written: is proactive and has consistent understandable motives that she consistently acts to achieve even after no longer being antagonistic, sticks to a honorable personal ideology she lives by and uses it to challenge/change Steven's own ideologies, is more complex than an instaredeemed sissy like every other antagonist or a retarded crybaby that has to be handled with baby gloves because of their sad backstory like every other good guy, only character in future aside from steven that has an ongoing arc, faces consequences for her actions unlike most other characters and goes through a lot of tragedy that makes her sympathetic, never turned into a boring flanderized meme like most other characters (until the god awful last two episodes of the series)
>compelling relationships with other characters she interacts with: rivalry turned mentor-apprentice dynamic with steven where steven slowly gains her respect and she turns him into a chad, toxic fusion with lapis where she becomes a subservient slut for someone that tortured her, the sister stuff with amethyst that got dropped in the epilogue for whatever reason
>has badass fight scenes and always starred in many of the series best episodes: the return, jailbreak, super watermelon island, alone at sea, earthlings, little homeschool, fragments. Only reason she doesn't have more screentime than side characters like lapis and peridot is because she's not shoved into worthless filler episodes, which is a good thing.
>cool design: hot scarred up muscle bound warrior lady with oni horns built for rough sex
Gee why do people like her?
Lemme sum it up in SU writer logic
>RUSSIA IS HOMOPHOBIC
>HOMOPHOBES ARE EVIL
>WE WANT EARTH TO BE WORTH SAVING
>THEREFORE RUSSIA DOESN’T EXIST
