Ok I think we're zeroing in on the plot for this chapter. Paulo's trying to make amends with Abbey but Abbey won't play along. And in order for this to work, it seems like Paulo has regressed in character to the version of himself that Abbey started to hate in the first place. Awesome, can't wait.

Daisy and Abbey's meeting in the SAT chapter seemed like an awkward "first meeting since the break-up" kind of thing, though. She's very casual here.

When has Mike been kind to people? His generic nice guy persona is just politeness, not kindness. His attitude towards Sandy is more submissive and pandering. He's very unkind when he's angry even if he's Right.

The amount of shit Mike puts up with from others takes his patience up well past polite. Go re-read the Stacy chapter, or any that actually follow Mike outside the Sandy-Sandy-Sandy frame of reference. He is ridiculously kind to his friends or anyone else who doesn't shit on his relationship.

Putt aside whether that's true or not it's a nuance I expect will never be applied to Lucy and Mike's "December" outburst.

Anyway Paulo can be a pretty solid dude, but he's also a douche fairly fequently, or does something "good" in a really shitty, insensitive way. With Sue as the exception this usually boils down to whether he's interacting with a guy or a girl.

Mike unfortunately has spent most of the comic being Lucy's villain, so his story is fairly engulfed in that. You don't really get a whole lot of chances to do kind things when you have to spend most of your time at odds with the de facto protagonist. Also what the other guy said.

He got the best marks in taking care of the baby simulator. That indicates a caring attitude even when it was just play-acting for a grade at school. It's the weakest example because it doesn't involve another character but I saw no reason to omit it and I presented the examples in the order they appeared in the comic.
