Couldn't they have come up with a better ending than this?

i give it a pass for the cool visuals

Holy fuck stop bitching nobody cares about your cold ass takes, newfag.

>Take away his bending and put him in jail
>Kill him

Effectively the same thing. What else did you expect Nickelodeon to do?

you must be new if you think anyone liked that asspull ending

Why not just put him in one of the boiling rock freezers?

Why not just take away his bending and put him in jail?

why do that when you have freezers?

Why put him in freezers when you can take away his bending and negate the chance of him escaping and becoming a threat in the future?

...

>Biggest threat the world has ever seen
>Ability to power up from comets and solstices
>The ultimate big bad for 4 seasons
>"Lol just put him in jail"

That's a very poor conclusion to the arc and you should never go into filmmaking.

But they did just put him in jail.

yeah I prefer it when kids shows take a strong line on capital punishment.

probably not

*three seasons. Aang already mastered Air

What's the problem?

It could have been kinda poetic if Aang imprisoned him in an iceberg.

She almost saved Aang from being erased from history.....

Attached: Azula-shoots-Aang.png (720x480, 231.17K)

It was a kids show with limitations

What?

i don't blame you for not watching lok

Aang wasn't erased from history and if Azula had her way he would have died? There's a gigantic statue of Aang in the capital of the new world.

What?

Attached: latest[1].png (444x250, 151.34K)

How old are you? Why are you watching cartoons intended for 10 year old children?

Alright retards reply to this post if you can come up with a better ending

could you?

OP is the one who said there should be a better ending. It's up to you/him to provide a better one.

"Put him in ice jail" is actual dogshit of an ending.

all this needed to be kino was for aang to discover energy bending himself without the turtle just giving it to him
some foreshadowing during the one of the spirit centric episodes could have been perfect for it

he could had just killed the guy like he did at the end of season 1

Attached: Aang killing someone.png (1723x889, 1.28M)

Because there's a high chance of someone still loyal to ozai that could free him you idiot. Without his bending, he's powerless, lowering the chance of a loyalist to set him free.

that was the ocean spirit

Right because his loyalists just go away now that his bending is gone

oh wait, they literally don't.

all he did was wash the fire nation back out of the north pole no killing involved

tell that to the police
>i didnt kill that man
>it was the ghost of a fish

>what people dont know spirits exist yet because korra didnt fuck the world yet?
>well SHIET

she erased all the past avatars dipshit

But this is a world where people shoot fire and the Avatar is a very real thing. It's pretty obvious that they'd believe in spirits, especially since he turned into a huge water monster.

>especially since he turned into a huge water monster.
exatcly
the AVATAR turned into a huge water monster
then the arm of that monsters comes out of water and drowns a man

the avatar killed a man

Ozai should have won, fire nation was on too long of a winning streak, their defeat was unearned

Attached: 3noTazm.jpg (600x315, 21.16K)

Ozai beats Aang and they make a season 4

just her connection to them, next season would've had her restoring that connection

you must be a blast at parties.

...

>If you kill him, you'll be just like him!

That's rough buddy.

I thought it was a good ending
This

>Aang actually loses his avatar state so it's Aang v Ozai rather than overpowered Avatar v Ozai
>Beats him into submission
>Ozai begs for mercy
>Aang says he won't kill Ozai
>Shoots lightning at Aang when Aang lets his guard down
>Aang redirects it killing Ozai

Why would he redirect it back at him if he said he wasn't going to kill him?

>he doesn't believe that lowering yourself to the same level as evil has an effect on your soul
Why do you think angry sjws come across as embarrassing hypocrites?

>>Aang redirects it killing Ozai
>not redirecting into his face BUT not killing him to make him have the same scar zuko has

Toriyama called, he wants his feeezer saga ending back

Cause it was a sneak attack and Aang would panic.
Keep in mind, Ozai would be cowering and begging for mercy, then throw a sneak attack at Aang.

I too watched dbz

the ending was a culmination of all the teachings Cuck Aang had been learning fag, if anything it was the only way to do it

Attached: hes-just-like-me.png (1028x526, 107.06K)

And what lesson would that teach, huh? What would be the moral of the story?

everyone on Zig Forums has a personality closer to azula than zuko

isn't this that shot they did in The Lighthouse?

But Fire Lord Ozai was being extra powered by Sozin's Comet.

This.

>everyone on Zig Forums has a personality closer to azula than zuko
found the azulafag

>Take
"Hot take" fags get the gas chambers

a redditor typed this post

>killing is inherently evil
I don't understand, death for Ozai there would have been far less torturous for him than wasting away in a cell for the rest of his life

you think far too highly of yourself if you don't agree

>killing Ozai
But that just perpetrates and continues the cycle of violence and murder, no? I don't like the dues ex machina that just gifts aang the solution either but killing the fire lord wouldn't have really fit.

it would of been kino if ozai actually put up a decent fight against the deus ex Avatar state

I liked the ending. It works on a thematic level in the way of mythology or poetry. The only thing that would have made it work better is if the lion turtle encounter felt more like an interaction with the spirit of life itself rather than just a big turtle. Bryan admits himself the biggest failure of the finale is how they animated the lion turtle.

It would continue the cycle of violence that Aang was trying to end

The lion turtle certainly felt different and more spiritual than any other animal he encountered so they were on the right track I think

>Ozai beats Aang
>Ozai takes Aang hostage
>Ozai occupies Ba Sing Se
>Zuko beats Azula
>Zuko takes Azula hostage
>Zuko occupies the Fire Nation capital city
>The Fire Nation army splits into support factions
>season 4
hows this?

>killing is inherently evil
When there is another way, yes. There is also another way. The idea that killing is evil comes from the idea that anyones soul can be saved. Not the aang or anyone believes the firelord can it will repent, but maintaining this optimism In action is what makes Aangs spirit incorruptible and able to energybend.

hes a big guy

I never understood people asking for a season 4, the stakes couldn't get any higher than in season 3 and they wrapped up all of the plotlines convincingly.

It does. It's clearly what they were aiming for, but I think if it was done better there would be less complaints about it "giving him" the power to win.

This, Season 3 was as ebin as it could get

>mc faces a difficult decision where he must make a decision that conflicts with his morals which he tried to uphold for 4 season and put him in existential dread
>lol magic turtle solution out of nowhere
Kek. ATLA fags are delusional when they say that this is any better than lesbian spirit journey boogaloo.

elaborate b8?

>Ability to power up from comets and solstices
like... every firebender
>The ultimate big bad for 4 seasons
3 seasons
>"Lol just put him in jail"
they JUST PUT HIM IN JAIL

couldn't they have come up with a better ending than this?

Attached: Comet-Enhanced_Agni_Kai.png (720x900, 475.96K)

way too much shit happened with the war itself after day of black sun after three seasons of almost nothing happening

The entire show was consistently about peace-bringing and pacifism. The good guys never fought to the death. Even if you don't like it, you should have seen that ending coming, and anything else would have been out of line with the show's themes.

but Azula's chimp out was kino

katara didn't need to be there for azula to chimp out

Attached: 168fd724d6462ff44ca36d0f4547a7f08e1bf2f2_hq-min.gif (640x480, 2.93M)

Have "I won't kill you, but I don't have to save you" moment.

You complain about this every thread. Katara did need to be there. Every character is where they need to be. Kataras was to have the back of the person she hated and learned to forgive. It's the only encounter thematically and character wise that makes sense for her to be involved in. Just because you are a porn addicted zoomer who can't stand roastie katara getting in the way of your Zuko fight doesn't mean your opinion makes sense or suggests a better alternative.

>>Aang redirects it killing Ozai
this is an animated show, not a generic dumb anime

It was more about every single friend and past avatar telling him to kill him, and Aang staying true to himself and doing what he believes is right, even when everyone else disagrees with him. It wasn’t about being a kids show, Zhao died, Jet died, Aang nearly died on screen to Azula, it was just what they wanted. Sorry you got filtered.

I'm glad to see people in this thread defending the finale, this is one of the only shows ever that had an entertaining, satisfying conclusion to the series and people don't give it enough credit

But katara didn't have his back, she got in his way and made it worse for him.

>freezers
Why was the Fire Nation so more tech advanced than other countries?

For me there are a couple of things that could've improved the ending
1) Iroh is glimpsed riding off with the goth girl on her giant mole creature
2) Katara uses blood bending on Azula

She did have his back, until Zuko insisted she do nothing as he fights his sister. Zuko got in the way of himself. Katara stood by ready to fight if he needed her, it's not her fault Azula is a dirty fighter with no honor.

To parallel Imperialistic China.

it is katara's fault she can't dodge and she almost got zuko killed.

>katara using blood bending on azula
I keep seeing all these shitty zoomer takes and memes about this shit and it pisses me off. She can only do it in a full moon. And even so, the point of the blood ending was specifically for the southern raiders episode to show how consumed by revenge and hatred she was. Bloodbending is a thematic character device not a plot device.

Meant this

>porn addicted zoomer
Projection

I wouldnt. Id just set up the lion turtle and energy bending better

mods a SHIT
Every post beneath this one is Zig Forums and GAY

Holy shit I hate the jannies.

this. Katara should learn to get out of the way. I just watched cave of 2 lovers a while ago and aang had to push her out of the way of the cave collapsing because she just stood there like an idiot.

In my experience only fapped out zoomers seeth about overtly feminine characters like Katara.

Is it just me, or is the Netflix upload trash?

>Zuko jumps in front of a bullet to save his friend
>OMG why didn't you just DODGE you fuckin ROASTIE!
Yes I'm aware you are baiting but sometimes it's too absurd.

Jesus what the fuck are you even talking about. The fact that you immediately go towards talking about porn when others are trying to discuss an actual plot point of the show proves that you're projecting.

The point is she shouldn't even be there you stupid ass idiot

It gets better after the first few episodes but for some reason it looks like garbage before that

its a rip from the original dvd's that had a garbage mastering.

It's a discussion that makes absolutely no sense. The literal only reason it would ever bother you is because Katara bothers you. These are the same people that think Southern Raiders was a pointless episode, and waterbending masters episode is "cringe". The reason I go to that is because I've encountered this sort of irrational seethe before and it's also from some twitchy zoomer that hasn't been outside in years.

> some twitchy zoomer that hasn't been outside in years.
still projecting.

Yes, yes she should have. You are running your argument in circles to find a reason to seethe about katara.
She should have been there because plot, thematically, and character wise it makes the most sense for her to have Zukos back ----> but she didn't have zukos back ----> Zuko told her to not fight ----> She should have just dodged ----> Zuko sacrificed HIMSELF ----> she should have just not been there ----> the beginning. Really, the discussion ends right at the first point, which is that she should be there because it's the most important, emotional, and cohesive part of the finale for her to be involved in, and Zukos sacrifice is a character moment for him and has nothing to do with her. You are desperate for an excuse to hate character and it's embarrassing.

He should’be killed him. It’s kids show but they could have gone with a Disney villain style death. Have his black silhouette be engulfed in flames or some shit. Also cut out the he guru plot line because the chiropractic rock shit is lame. Make it so that:
1) he never masters the avatar state in time so he has to go into the Ozai fight unprepared
2) his death in book 2 traumatised him to the point of being unable to reenter the avatar state
3) he eventually does into the avatar state in the final fight in the same way that gold goes super saiyan for the first time. He just hits maximum rage mode. Have ozai hurt momo or something to really tick him off.

It's not about katara so stop your god damn seething about your waifu.
