I was born in 1985, but the only memory I have pop culture wise from that is when my uncle let me watch Heavy Metal when I was 6 or 7. But even then, Heavy Metal, or at least the movie, didn't have that specific style of neon lasers, floating geometric shapes, and synthesized music juxtaposed with techno-barbarian savagery.

I really appreciate the first three in that they sound like authentic 80s songs with 80s style production, rather than synthwave/vaporwave/whatever the kids call that. Also pretty classy of Puffy to come out of retirement and do a cover.

When it first came out, it was mainly the Teen Titans purists who shat on TTG for daring to be a comedy. The second wave of more generalized hate came when CN decided to spam the show to the detriment of the rest of their lineup.
