This was back when Charlotte was still a spoiled brat antagonist and Tiana was her long suffering servant (she was also names Maddie at this point), the premise of her character was that she presented herself as a perfect traditional Disney princess but it was all a facade, her singing voice cracked after a few bars, her modest, demure demeanor was an act covering up a greedy, gluttonous bitch with a temper, and her waifish figure was the product of corsetry, covering up her massive potbelly.
