Lex is a staunch Republican Norman is with the Democrats because the Republican party all fucking hates him.
Lucas Hughes
Lex is way, way fucking smarter. Norman is a goober.
Charles Barnes
>Norman is with the Democrats because the Republican party all fucking hates him. Why would they? Norman seems pretty conservative to me, he's a corporate guy, and just look at his rhetoric during Dark Reign. I'm pretty sure the democrats would hate him far far more.
Luis Hernandez
Luthor is smarter and a lot less insane. If there's no Superman then it's an easy vote for Lex
Plus, if Red Son is anything to go off of, he's actually a god tier president.
Daniel Martinez
Lex, easily. Norman is fucked in the head and should've been put down long ago.
Ryan Reed
>Norman is with the Democrats because the Republican party all fucking hates him.
That didn't stop Trump from winning the republican ticket, so your point makes no sense.
Brody Wilson
Lex is a great president, outside of wanting to dick around with Superman.
Norman is a raving lunatic even on his better days. The choice is obvious.
Wyatt Gray
New 52 Lex
David Murphy
>Thinking the Dems aren't all corporate as well
This is America, we're all about corporate here. Imagine if capitalism had a sequel, Capitalism 2: Electric Boogaloo, and it had everything from the previous version but ramped up to eleven and then times ten. That's America. We love businesses, in fact, it's what we base our giant, throbbing global-sized dick on: our economy. No one's defeating some good old red, white, and blue cash money thrown into their face.
That's why the Dems and Republicans both love corporate. Don't quote Sanders, he's a blip against a wave of corporate-loving Dems. Don't show me a guy like Biden and tell me he doesn't also have his pockets funded by billionaires thru super PACs and that he's not voting in their interests as well. Dems shat all over Bernie because he was anti-corporate and who would support him? This is America. Business is our lifeblood. I'm sure you can quote some smaller politicians like AOC or Gabbard or some other people with empty promises like Warren, the "Native American," but I guarantee you the ones with real power in either the Dems or Republicans support corporate. Dems ain't gonna hate on Normie, they'll trip over themselves for his money.
God bless.
Wyatt Lewis
No supers, Lex would be the best president of all time
Jack Evans
Well then Norman, but how the fuck did he get the nomination Bloomberg dropped like 500 million and got nothing for it
Matthew Campbell
Didn't Lex run as a Democrat on a socially progressive ballot focusing on improving public services
Chase James
Lex would be the best president we've had in a couple generations. Norman would be more of the same old phony crony.
Aaron Torres
That's ironically why voting for Norman is better. He'll ultimately out himself with his Halloween costume fetish and spare people the grief, with Lex there's going to be a long back and forth where he fucks with people just enough but never gets pinned, or for long, and the longer and more it goes on the craftier he gets.
If you look at how he uses his resources to mess with Metropolis it'll be more of that except not only coast to coast but also on such a level of open, yet legalized, aggravation it'll be more of a headache than it's worth no matter what advances he brings to the table.
With Norman it's going to be jackshit on the pro side, sure, but once his insanity starts compelling his cons he'll be out before his first year even ends and it'll be over.
A vote for Norman is a vote for a swift kick in the balls, but a vote for Lex is a vote for 4 years of CBT, which you'll also end up paying for somehow.
Gavin Gomez
Capitalism ramped up is laissez-faire. What we have is cronyism. Not the same thing.
Hudson Gutierrez
Like said, just look at Bloomberg. Dems would take Norman's money if he offered it, but they would never let him gain actual political office. Democratic voters would reject him and his Dick Cheny ways. Can you seriously read Dark Reign and still think that Norman is in any way progressive?
Joseph Cooper
>he's a corporate guy Right, he's a globohomo liberal.
Mason Rivera
>He'll ultimately out himself with his Halloween costume fetish and spare people the grief If Norman is a republican, it wouldn't matter. His supporters would love him anyway and the Senate would refuse to remove him from office.
The Dems, specifically the Obama administration, built the cages along the border lol and every dem votes in favor of military expansion with even powerful Dems like Biden signing the Patriot Act (read Superhero Registration Act) and every dem votes to pass every one of Trump's military budget bills.
If Osborn wanted to expand his shit, I'm sure he'd be with the Dems just for the easier angle to spin better PR. Same for Lex. Both of them are too smart to not realize that their interests would be fulfilled either way.
Eli Evans
I genuinely do not understand your thought process. It would clearly be a lot easier for Norman to get elected as a republican. How would it be easier for him as a democrat? You have to at least pretend to be progressive to get the democratic nomination and the support of democratic voters.
Kevin Reed
Yeah, as long as you're for free stuff and social justice, Democrats won't care if you're a warmonger and other actually horrible shit. In fact, being anti-war is now a death knell even for a Democrat candidate that checks all the right boxes, like Tulsi.
Lucas Jones
>>implying Norman can't pretend You realize he's a psychopath, right?
Alexander Gomez
Ideally and in theory, capitalism is a meritocracy. You work hard, you get compensated for it. But it also necessitates that private corporations own pretty much everything. That's pure capitalism. It's profit-driven and it necessitates that in theory people are fairly compensated at a "market value" that is naturally ascertained thru fair competition.
But everything sounds good in theory and we're living at the natural conclusion of capitalism. Lots of people have money and because we live in this system that means that they have power. We tried to regulate it but let's be honest, that's not working. It's a kind of system that promotes private interests and private interests will always serve private not public, so when a buncha dudes wanna collude to protect their profits in an industry they will. They can price-fix or create false scarcity. That's what happens so the premise of fair competition in capitalism doesn't exist. It relies too much on this ideal of meritocracy and it assumes too much about the good nature of man.
So the natural conclusion is a system of cronyism. Laissez-faire would simply mean any restrictions wouldn't exist and it just means a faster path to cronyism thru capitalism. There's no significant difference because they are the same thing just at different stages.
Cheers, mate.
Ryder Wood
Well, for this hypothetical situation, one of them has to be with the Democrats and both are very Republican. It's called "Suspension of Disbelief"
Josiah Phillips
But wouldn't it be easier for him to not pretend and just run as a Republican? As long as he downplays the Green Goblin stuff and focuses on his conservative policies and fearmongering, republican voters would embrace him.
Brandon Collins
How about a situation where either Lex or Norman is running third party, and the democratic candidate and the entire DNC leadership get outed as Skrulls after the Democratic National Convention, completely ruining their campaign and making democrats unelectable?
Gabriel Sanchez
Yeah, I'm this user and basically haven't you ever seen Norman pretend he's a victim of Spider-Man or that he's always been a good guy? He's cast doubt multiple times on whether or not he's the lunatic Green Goblin. I'm pretty sure he can act like he's the good guy while also playing the corporate game to get as many donors as possible. Dems are shit at it now, but I'm sure somebody like Stormin Norman can pull it off and make bank off of it.
Dylan Reed
Vote for the third party candidate.
Because there's ALWAYS a third party candidate. Or write in Wonder Woman.
Owen Green
The trick is that all you have to do is say you're for free stuff and social justice and then keep that act up for a while, while you actually only give out peanuts to give the illusion of big change. It's actually a really smart play for the Dem's and their brand image.
