New Pixar Short Out

Haven't seen any threads about this, so let's get some discussion going. Was it a good film? Was it good rep? What was up with the cat/dog gods or whatever?
I thought Out was cute for the most part, but the 'human acting like a dog' parts made me feel a little funny.

It sounds like you're not even familiar with how Pixar shorts work at all. Pixar shorts have always been outlets for experimentation on storytelling along with experimenting with rendering to find ways to create more stylized media. They're not meant to be perfect given it's experimental nature.

Coco was a worse, more formulaic Kubo yet still got the Oscar because the Academy doesn't have anyone who appreciates the craft of animation and storytelling therein, and just awards whatever shows their kids liked the most. And children are the lowest common denominator for taste.
