Is /co / excited? I am.
I have only one big hope, I hope this movie isn't set in the DCEU, I'm tired of Cinematic Universes. I want my standalone Batman series back.
THE BATMAN 2021
From what I understand it is completely separate from the DCEU, which is basically completely dead at this point.
I did hear something about them trying to link it to the Joker movie, but I'm not really sure how that would work.
Isn't it said Johnny Depp will play Joker in the trilogy? Which Frankly, I think he could fo a great job.
I haven't heard that, but Joaquin Phoenix has said that he would not do any kind of Batman movie and does not even want to do a sequel to Joker.
Good.
>I have only one big hope, I hope this movie isn't set in the DCEU, I'm tired of Cinematic Universes.
There hasn't been anything in the DCEU since BvS.
All the other movies are set apart and they only try to reference older movies without trying to connect.
>I want my standalone Batman series back.
Oh poor boy!
It wasn't enough 3 decades of standalones!
You need another decade!
>Is /co / excited?
I'm cautious.
> I hope this movie isn't set in the DCEU
It seems fairly obvious that it isn't.
FUCK OFF CINEMATIC UNIVERSE FAGGOT
you had fucking decades without cinematic universes.
We have real cinematic/shared universes from less than 1 decade, complaining about it makes you seems incapable of growing up.
You want the standalones? Then live in the past
what is this symbol?
please don't tell me it's a stylized way of spelling Bat
Literally caring about any of this at all means you are incapable of growing up, you are no better than him.
Here is your Penguin bro
These people are tired of cinematic universes, despite either have always been a thing (Alien and Predator) or they just hates it because they think standalones works better.
But we had standalones for more decades than we had shared series, so it's bad complaining about this new way of cinema
PLEASE TELL ME THIS IS AN EXISTING SYMBOL AND I'M JUST INSANE AND THIS ISN'T THE SHIT THEY'RE PULLING
Why have 1 universe were all the films are the same and exist in it when we can have multiple films, new takes on characters and world by different directors who are not led by a canon for some universe to dictate their vision?
The Batman is not in the DCEU. Deal is over. The Batman will make more money than majority of Marvel films. The Dark Knight trilogy is still remembered fondly compared to MCU.
This isn't an official poster, its just some weird fan photoshop. They probably took a pair of headphones and photoshopped it into the costume, don't get worked up over literally nothing.
I’m not saying you can’t make a sequel to Joker but where can you take the character after he’s completely marked out and finally become the monster from the comic books?
It's fanmade, here is the real suit
Again, its really not something worth caring about. Its more important that the movie is good than if it ties into some other bullshit. If it does tie into other stuff, cool, but if not, who cares?
They are planning to “soft restart” it with Wonder Woman 84. They are planning to bring Henry Cavill back as superman apparently although we’ll see how that pans out.
Dude's too fucking old to be a foe to Batman, too. He's not the real Joker, so at max you'd have to have him inspire the real Joker.
Also not official, the pictures are from the costume test but the colors are photoshopped on. The actual costume test is all dark black.
Oh, I don't follow DC stuff and saw it while scrolling. Just realized it's the artist's logo, so yeah, I'm the dumbass here.
I honestly wouldn't put it past them to pull something like that though
Should just reboot Superman with a new young actor and make it separate from DCEU and then if the film is a success make sequels and a crossover with Pattinson Batman. Ca ill is too old. Pattinson is young and perfect to keep the franchise afloat for years to come beyond trilogy.
>Why have 1 universe were all the films are the same and exist in it when we can have multiple films, new takes on characters and world by different directors who are not led by a canon for some universe to dictate their vision?
Because we had that bullshit for more years than we had of shared universes created and directed by the same director.
And it's still doesn't happen often.
The MCU is directed by different people and Feige mostky doesn't care.
The DCEU was supposed to be directed only by Zack Snyder and at the end he directed only 2 and 1 quarter of a movie.
Glass was the only real shared universe because was all directed by Shyamalan.
So you don't have anything to complain about, your precious standalones are still the normality
Why we never got the dark knight 4? I loved those batman films.
>The Batman is not in the DCEU. Deal is over. The Batman will make more money than majority of Marvel films. The Dark Knight trilogy is still remembered fondly compared to MCU.
Good for The Batman.
As you can see there isn't a good possibility of shared universes being a thing despite existing for less than 1 decadde
>Why we never got the dark knight 4?
Because Heath Ledger died and Bale didn't want to do anymore.
>Its more important that the movie is good than if it ties into some other bullshit. If it does tie into other stuff, cool, but if not, who cares?
I'm just angry that the OP was complaining about shared universes as if it was common as standalones
Because the second anything other than Batman fucking fails at the box office they always fall back on him instead of taking a risk on a character other than the fucking Batman.
Batman has had more movies and literally any of the other DC characters combined. The reason BVS became the mess it was was because they made it a Batman cross over movie instead of a superman standalone.
I’m fucking sick of Batman I just want a good superman movie trilogy but because they keep fucking up with him and never fucking up with Batman that’s never going to fucking happen
