The old Pixar shorts are significant pieces of early 3D animation created as demonstration projects to test the waters and viability of CGI animation in simple scenario form. They were a successful experiment, which is why CGI has advanced so much and we have production companies like Pixar who are world-famous.
I'm sure the new shorts have a practical purpose for some employees and they are a fun creative and visual exercise for creators and audiences, but I don't see them being mentioned in the same way as the pioneering material.

Jesus, they could’ve made the men bricks or something. The contrast of hard, unyielding stones who only serve one function would’ve been perfect against a ball of yarn. The metaphor could still work, but also apply to more than just women vs men. But I guess if it wasn’t blatant enough they wouldn’t get praise?
