Green Lantern / Parallax

>DC once had their own version of Magneto

>Retcon the whole thing so he can revert to being a generic superhero

Was Green Lantern: Rebirth a mistake?

Yes

It did lead to Larfleeze so gonna say no

>Green Lantern
Pathetic.

If Parallax Hal were the canon endgame for Hal, how would that have affected GLTAS Hal?

?
You mean the animated series from the 2012?

Yeah. How do you think they would have written him differently if the audience had the expectation he'd become Parallax Hal later on down the line?

Rainbow Lantern Corps are a retcon concept so it fits in Pre-Parallax.
But Guy Gardner's character should first be the replacement.
Sinestro and YL corps should come in Sinestro's 3rd appearence, and it's basically the Qward wars storylines from the Bronze Age, they defeat them with the use of other Rainbow Lanterns.
Then they should have first showed that the Guardians care about nobody but their rules and having enough lanterns, but not as much as making them borderline villains, just un-emotional for the greatest good.
Hal should first be their best man, he is who they call when the GL needs to do something and hide it or it's something that needs the be done perfectly and without flaws, they give him a new power battery that has no the yellow weakness nor the non-lethal rule
Eventually Hal loose his life on earth, his villains on earth (Polaris and Sonar and Shark are now in Suicide Squad.
Hal sleeps, lives, dreams in space. Carol is a member of the Violet Corps and so he has barely any reason to go to earth, he even forgot the promise he made to Tom Kalmaku to be there for him once a month and he doesn't see him by 1-2 maybe 3 years.

Eventually Mongul and the Cyborg Superman wants to colonize earth, and so it becomes a GL problem
>Reign Of Superman plotline
but Hal gets defeated by CS and Mongul and then they destroys Coast City.
>Emerald Twilight
Hal tries to rebuild Coast City, he uses every inch of power to make the dust take shape, to reset everything as it was once.
The Guardians deny him that because it's a personal wish and GLs can't have personal wants.
Hal finally snaps.
He has been their puppet for years, he has never questioned their orders, he has never said no, he just obeyed always and anyway. And they don't want to give him the only thing he asks for?
Then he goes to Oa, he kills-knock off the GLs, eventually he absorbs all the energy and creates a bubble shield to Oa to don't let any other GL come to stop him.
Sinestro comes to defeat Hal, Hal will eventually ends it and kill Sinestro.
Hal's last act as Green Lantern is to use enough power to push the GLs near him to their homes.
He kills the Guardians, took over the Battery.
Ganthet survives and with the energy from the direct spectrum makes a ring, he teleports to earth, a guy named Kyle is choose to wear that ring

So you wanted him to not die and become the Spectre? Because that's when he really stopped being Parallax. Also, there should be another version of Parallax Hal running but he hasn't been seen in a long while.

>So you wanted him to not die and become the Spectre
Yes, I don't knowwhy do they felt he needed an other redemption.
And the kino "Last Will and Testament of Hal Jordan" is ignored by everyone so it wouldn't make a difference

ive read that

Oh me too.
It's the reason I love comics

>>DC once had their own version of Magneto
Uh....

It was a cool comic, I liked Tom in it

Considering how badly handled Maxwell Lord, DC’s own version of reverse evil Professor X, has been handled. No. Whatever good that might have done was offset by avoiding another Prime Time fiasco.

This was more Dark Phoenix if anything

More in the motivation sense I think, and not blatant ripoff

Maxwell Lord started as a Luthor expie, only Johns is to blame for the Prof X

Certain characters need to stay as the definitive version of the superhero. Barry and Hal were always going to come back, just like Superman was never going to stay dead. Otherwise you wouldn't get stories like Kingdom Come or The Dark Knight Returns. Something like 5G where all of the characters are moved into the next generation is the only way you can move past that.

>Barry and Hal were always going to come back
Paradox was right

>Emerald Twilight

I really wish DC weren't pussies and made shows based on their 90's stuff. I would give them a chance to actually edit and flesh out some of these story lines to make them better.

Twilight in particular needed to be longer.

Since it can't happen in the DCAU it would be nice having an animated adptation of cinematic release

They've been postponing GL stuff for a while now. I know Didio wanted to adapt Sinestro Wars into an animated feature too. I wonder if it's because they're trying to distance themselves as much as they can from Reynolds' GL, or they have something big in store for the property, hence them not releasing any stuff.

Magneto? What the fuck? How Parallax behaved like Magneto? Is it because of the cape? You're better off laughing to quips Timmy.

It would either be a series or a serious movie.
But since the DCAOM aren't really marketable a series would be better.
Cartoon Network would work better for it, Adult Swim maybe but not really

make it a sequel to Emerald Knights

biggest mistake they ever made

>not blatant ripoff

Besides them being completely different characters besides their powers, Polaris was introduced before Magneto. Magneto just actually got popular.

>biggest mistake they ever made
retconning it. right?

>A Yellow Bug did it lol
