SUPERMAN REBOOT

How would Zig Forums reboot Superman? Who would you cast? Villain? Director? Story? Would you make him black?

I'd cast John Boyega so the movie would crash and burn.

I would make him jewish.
I would direct it.
The story is a subversion of All Star Superman in which Superman can't save everyone and so he limits himself to a part of the USA.
The villain is Ultra Humanite (golden age) and Brainianc

>Movie title: THE SUPERMAN
>Release date: 2023
>Plot: Classic Superman story, main villain is Lex Luthor who wants to start WWIII for his own benefits, he has a army of robots built and a big mech which he will use in the ending to fight Superman, he will use Kryptonite. Superman is more similar to Reeves one and also some inspiration from TDK trilogy Batman. I took Iron Man 1 as inspiration too.
>Cast:
>Armie Hammer as Superman
>Karen Gillan as Lois
>Stanley Tucci as Lex Luthor
>Teases:Tease Brainiac and Zod for future films. Do The Batman vs The Superman reboot with Pattinson and Hammer.

Noah Mills as Superman
Villain: darkseid and doomsday
Movie would be obscure and for the adult audience, preferably with gore

>Darkseid as a Superman's villain
They made Mongul for not using Darkseid

I'd cast some acceptable but non-megastar actor and have costuming, hair, and makeup sell it visually. The villain can't be Lex or Zod so I'd probably go with Mongul. Mongul wants to conquer earth and force it's citizens into War World. Mongul is beaten but survives to be the villain in a Green Lantern or Justice League movie.

Director wise I'd get J.J. Abrams because he does big dumb flashy stories and a superman story doesn't need to be super lore heavy or complicated.

John Hamm as an older Superman who has been a superhero for a long time. He and Lois have settled down and John is in school, but hasn’t had any powers yet.
I’d make the main villains Metallo and Lex Luthor. Luthor’s an old enemy of Superman who was recently released from prison and creates Metallo, who is based in his animated series counterpart. I’d put emphasis on Metallo’s strength even without Kryptonite, with his parts coming from alien technology.
I’d get Brad Bird to direct.
I wouldn’t make Superman black when there’s actors that literally look the part. I would however open up the possibility of Steel.

>Mongul wants to conquer earth and force it's citizens into War World
That works only if it's a Superman standalone.
If it's so big then the Green Lantern Corps should come to help and the heroes of earth

Mongul’s a good choice for a Superman movie, but I think he’s more of a sequel villain. In pre-crisis he was the perfect “Shit hits the fan” villain, and I think establishing the characters enough that Mongul’s presence makes them scared would help.

If I did a sequel to I would have Mongul be the villain. Luthor has been salvaging alien tech in space, which turns out to be debris from Mongul’s attacks on planets. Mongul finds Luthor’s proves and follows them back to earth when Luthor unknowingly takes a key that activates the War World.
Mongul shows up on earth looking for the key and Superman fights him, but Supes gets his ass kicked hard. The public lose faith in Superman as Mongul prepares to activate the War World and burn the earth for fuel of the weapon.
John’s powers finally show up, and Steel also becomes a hero. The climax is Superman, Superboy, and Steel all teaming up and defeating Mongul. When Mongul tries to use Warworld on them, it backfires and kills them, revealing that Lex was actually helping against Mongul (knowing that he was even worse than Superman).

Set the movie a while after Superman has appeared on the scene, but when people don't actually know anything about this sudden superhero and some people don't yet fully trust him. That includes out film's protagonist and POV character; Lois Lane. We see the entire movie from her eyes, not Superman's, as she wants to do an expose on Superman because her investigative nature is always looking for the seedy underbelly of anything that looks too good to be true. Unfortunately, she can't land an interview. And that new hire, Clark something, can't take a hint and butt out of her story.

Following up on Superman's recent heroic efforts, Lois uncovers a connection between the at first seemingly unrelated incidents that points to a conspiracy with Superman as the obvious common factor. Investigating this lead lands Lois in the middle of a Lex Luthor plot to take down the Man of Steel, one that Superman doesn't see coming.

The whole story distances itself from the power fantasy aspect of Superman, though he does get plenty of chances to punch up bad guys and save people from disasters, and instead focuses on his impact on the people and world around him from the POV of someone that starts off mistrusting him and slowly comes to realize she might be falling for the object of her investigation.

Pattinson's supes will be MBJ

I'd make it built around Nietzsche's concept of the Ubermensch...like Superman's supposed to be damn it! He knows he's not human, and he doesn't care, but hell if he doesn't resent being cast into a messianic role. Essentially it'd be three pretentious hours of Supes and Lex debating about the nature of man, power and progress until they come to an understanding and make everything awesome for everyone. But it would be a box office bomb, cost Warner Brothers millions of dollars in lost revenue and have my ass tarred and feathered out of Hollywood.

And yes I would cast Michael B. Jordan because why the fuck not? Anything at this point to piss of Zig Forums

>Black Superman
Are you going to get Shaq back to make it a proper flop like Steel?

I would. It's worth a shot. Make Superman more urban for the kids. Batman is white. Superman is black. Wonder woman is uhh like brownish. Something for everyone.

Brad Bird director
Honestly might wait a few years for new actors to reach their 20s to cast Lex and Clark
Honestly though I'd want it to be animated,
Movie explores how uncompromising both characters are in their beliefs and what it means to be human
Clark believes that to be human is to be free. Free to try and fail. He recognizes that freedom enables people to do evil things when they succumb to base desires.
Lex believes himself to be the representative of what a human should be, and sees Superman's superior physiology as a threat to himself, and therefore all of humanity.
They both bring each other to near death multiple times, but in the end put aside their differences to protect the earth from a global threat, I'm thinking a juiced up Parasite driven made by power, but also suffering an endless hunger.
The movie ends with Superman outside Lex's window, saying that he wished he didn't have to hate him. That he struggles to see the humanity in him. They both truly do have the Earth's best interests at heart, but in very different ways, and neither can see the other as human.
I'd also like to work in Mercy and Lois. Clark is attracted to Lois' free spirit despite her disciplined manner, while Lex admire Mercy's potential and her troubled past.

I'd do a movie about Superman in 1938 up until now. It would be a play on groundhog day. Everyday, he wakes up but nothing he does, no matter how good or bad ever seems to matter since he always wakes up in bed at Metropolis with only the date on the calendar changing for him, the city and its people.

Wouldn't that make Battinson racist?

BVS Batman was already racist. Being racist against Kryptonians is the same whether said aliens are black or white skinned. But the fact remains that Batfleck didnt hate Superman for WHO he was, but rather WHAT he was.

Adapt Superman: Birthright

>It's worth a shot.
It's really not
>Batman is white. Superman is black. Wonder woman is uhh like brownish. Something for everyone.
You're just making "Diversity: The Movie"

You could've actually tried following existing source material. Did you know that there's an entire alternative reality where pretty much all the superheroes are black? Why not make a movie of that reality alongside the regular DC universe and tie it into one of the crisis events

Only people against a Black Superman on screen are racists and closet racists.

Dude your white guilt is showing
