I only learned Chuck Mangione was a real person almost a decade after watching King of the Hill.
I also didn't know James Woods was a real person when I first saw Family Guy but I caught on quicker with that one.

Well James Woods doesn't do much anymore, so it's fine
Shit thread. You're just a naive guy who wanted to blog that you didn't know who Chuck Mangione and James Woods were until you saw it in a cartoon.
I mean I first watched KoTH and Family Guy when I was a kid, so I'm not sure how else I would've learned about them at that age.
His career kind've imploded after he came out of the closet as a Trump Supporter. The only thing he's really done since he got outed is his gig voicing Hades for Kingdom Hearts and Disney theme parks.
Kinda related, but when Futurama first came out, I thought Zoidberg was voiced by the rapper Shaggy because they sounded so similar.
He voiced Lex Luthor in the Justice League Action cartoon. But otherwise all he does is pick fights on Twitter to try and keep his name in the headlines.
fucking any celebrity guest in a kid's cartoon
why the fuck did johnny bravo think kids would know who donny osmond is
I mean I didn't I actually know who Donny Osmond was, but I did know the Osmonds were real people when I watched it.
Speaking of Zoidberg, my dad was talking to me about Harold Lloyd a little while ago and I suddenly understood the joke about Harold Zoid.
Anyone else prefer when the guest star is just playing a part in the story as opposed to playing a fictitious version of themselves?
i guess you never saw the "Firedrill" episode of Space Ghost: Coast to Coast, huh?
I'd wager most people under the age of 25 haven't seen much Space Ghost: Coast to Coast.
Nor experienced it correctly. Half awake bored and flipping through channels.
I was stoned on small town ditch weed most of the time, too.
I didn't know until my dad walked into the living room and said he used to play with him.
The Osmonds. Well known for those TEETH.
Not really, his career was already pretty dead by the mid 2000s
I thought Ted Nugent was supposed to just be some guy when he appeared as himself on ATHF. Later I found out he does music
Yeah, I don't recall him doing anything remotely noteworthy after Casino.
I'd heard of Farah Fawcett as a kid but I assumed that she was a fictional character after watching Johnny Bravo.
> She's in a cartoon! Can't be a real person then.
He was the villain in the Channing Tatum White House movie, that's really the only notable thing I can think of.
He basically became the stereotypical American retiree. The only difference is that he's a famous actor.
David Hasslehoff in the Spongebob movie. As a kid I just assumed he was friendly Lifeguard trying to help Spongebob out. I remember feeling sad when he got burned by the crown at the end
The one that made me laugh was when he went after Armie Hammer for that indie fag romance he did that most people likely would have ignored if James Woods hadn't started shit on Twitter over it.
I like when it's a ridiculously exaggerated version of themselves, Adam West was king of that
This might also blow your mind, but RayJay Johnson, Jr is also real
Yeah if they're playing themselves as a character that's fine, but FAMED INVENTOR ELON MUSK WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN SPRINGFIELD takes an angle to make work
Thought this guy was just a cartoon for more than a decade.
He was largely a B-Movie actor throughout the 80s, had a minute in the 90s when he got to be in some decently know stuff and finally made it to big time actor status. And then just sort of fell off back into obscurity again by the mid 00s.
He really only had a small handfull of movies that were worth a shit in the 90s.
Why did King of the Hill do so much Chuck Mangione stuff anyway? The guy was in almost every season.
Diggstown was pretty great
