i genuinely think korra is better and not its not cause of lesbians, that actually knocks a few points off for me but not enough to knock it below avatar. for starters korra was edgier which is always better, 2 korra actually just kept getting her ass k8cked and reality crushing down on her unlike aang who only got one episode of that, the villains were better written with goals and not just autists with hate boners like ozai. i'll admit the humor was shit tho but that still doesn't knock it bellow avatar

Maybe, because of coronavirus studios will probably throw more money at animation studios, but I doubt we'll ever get another show with this much universal praise, you fags will nitpick the hell out of any show that comes out no matter the level of quality

I think it was lightning a bottle, getting simultaneously that quality of writing and that quality of animation, in a western cartoon. Despite Korra's issues I would be more than happy to get a third Avatar series because nothing else scratches that itch.

Ozai and Zhao were both good villains. Zhao was the perfect season 1 villain, a good representation of the savagery and brutalness of the fire nation army. Ozai was a horrible, horrible father, such that you learn to hate him before even meeting him. He is barely shown until the finale, which helps build a mysteriousness around him, but despite this you can still feel his presence throughout the entire show because of his relationship with Azula and Zuko and because of him being built up to as the final boss.

Not under the current conditions for creating animation. Avatar was the right people, at the right time, with the right amount of freedom. That won't happen again until the way we fund, create and manage cartoons changes.
