Was Samurai Jack actually a good show or is just nostalgia? I say it is genuinely good, my girlfriend thinks it's just nostalgia. Your thoughts?

I think your girlfriend's a cunt and you should pop her in the mouth whenever she opens it.

>Your thoughts?
An ending retconning a series removes all emotional weight from it. It's still fine as a spectacle, but as an entertaining story, it's been trashed.

Nostalgia is a factor but you can't deny Genndy's work. On the artistic level it can't be beat. The story, it's not for everybody, but I like it.

Did your girlfriend binge it? It's a terrible show to watch all at once.

Grow some balls

The art has been beat sooo many times. Shit look at redline

She did. I don't want to force it though. It's not her bag, not her thing.

A binge watch can queer somebody on things.

Not her stuff. You enjoy other things?

I watched it for the first time in 2017 as an adult and it's one of the best shows I've ever seen.

Hellboy and Sam and Max. Last Christmas she gave me her Sam and Max hardbound.

You put on a ring on that. Geeks don't get chances that good.

Gorgeous cinematography and world-design. Would have benefited a lot more from adopting continuity early on instead of saving it for the final season.

Definitely a good show.

kvetch harder.

I don't know. The last was good, but I felt he was just finishing, you know? Performances were on top, I felt the writing left something to be desired.

They were trying to finish, but I thought it did good. Jack killed Aku. I was waiting for that since I was a teenager. But, maybe that's the thing? I waited so long I eat up anything? But I enjoyed it.

I wish the last season had more time to develop its things. The first three were perfect, Jack deserved better. Overall a pretty good cartoon nonetheless.

That's cool if you like it. I kind of did. Maybe it just wasn't my bag.

Definitely. Jack and Ashi? That could have been an entire season itself. It was really rushed I think, but I think they did good with what time they had.

Genuinely good in parts. It seems like the writers thought they had to sprinkle some dumb jokes in or else kids would bounce off it. Given how serious and consistent the pilot is in tone I'm guessing CN test screened it and the responsive was 'it's good but it should also be funny'

S5 is all downhill after the third episode and despite what retards continue to say more episodes/running time would not have helped

I don't know if Ashi could have ever worked. Jack was so mentally broken.

I liked S5. I just think it was weak by comparison because it felt rushed.

Based.

it's genuine good most of the time, it has a few dud episodes but what show doesn't?
the main problem is the absolutely abysmal ending.

Don't be a cunt. It's just a simple argument about a cartoon. It's no reason to be a dick about.

I liked the ending. I'm probably the only one.

It gets shit on a lot because it was the actual ending to the story rather than completely unrelated adventures, because it took 13 years to get it and because the first three episodes were so fucking good that nothing afterwards managed to live up to them.

Really? It was so depressing. After all that, Jack doesn't get the girl? I don't think everything needs a happy ending but he deserved one.
