The way I see it, there are two kinds of Newgrounds Styles. The one parodied in the OP (grotesque, exaggerated expressions, John K. inspired), and the Dan Paladin / Edmund McMillen style. Cutesy, simplified, possibly inspired by emojis. Adventure time always seemed to fall into the latter category
