Are Agnarr and Iduna irredeemable? Seems like everytime the movies, comics or even the Frozen novels try to explore these characters they only make them look like even worse and worse parents.

At this point, part of the fun is watching how they ruin them even more.
they are either evil, stupid or both.
only way to redeem them is to retcon their actions as them being under the spell of the trolls
>Here I am at
>Camp Grenada!
Iduna is by far the worst. She knew all along and still she just let her husband lock down and separate her daughters.
Funny how in an attempt to give more depth and background to Iduna they turned her into the biggest monster of the franchise
>Are Agnarr and Iduna irredeemable?
After Frozen 2?

The problem is, the first Frozen portrayed Agnarr and Iduna as dipshits who - for reasons good or bad, led astray by the Trolls or not - borderline kept Elsa prisoner in her room and Anna prisoner in the castle. Even when the franchise was just the first Frozen alone, people agreed they were shitty parents because of this. Indeed, this was the first time in a Disney movie where the parents locking their children away wasn't done by the film's villain. Thus, since we know Elsa and Anna weren't allowed freedom until well after Agnarr and Iduna's deaths, nothing the characters do in any future appearances/flashbacks can contradict that. So, as much as future appearances have them say "we really oughta let Elsa out because we love her so much," they never can, and so the franchise must continuously come up with more and more reasons as to why they never did, which make them look stupid at best or evil/abusive at worst (or in the case of Iduna in Frozen II, both), because all they can really do story-wise is realize more and more how wrong their actions are... and then still never make things right.
>iduna and agnarr novel
Uh. Didn't know that was a thing.
good reply, user.
>let's just make Runeard a huge dipshit
reminder that Agnarr purged the non-white from Arendelle
Only people with parent issues hate Iduna and Agnar.
Agnar did nothing wrong.
>let her husband lock down
Agnar didn't locked down Elsa. He just separated them. Elsa decided to lock herself up.
the most important question, is how can we involve hans in this
>Even when the franchise was just the first Frozen alone, people agreed they were shitty parents because of this.
By brainlets who can't remember the first scenes and the dialogue with Gran Pabbie
>borderline kept Elsa prisoner in her room
Elsa decided to remain mostly in her room, not by her parents
> and Anna prisoner in the castle & rest of the post.
The trolls warned them people would fear and hate Elsa because her powers. It's only logical to think other nations would use that as causus beli, as we saw Weselton wanted to know the secrets as well the Duke sending his thugs to kill Elsa. That can be explained easily by F1 context.
For F2 it was indeed stupid to make Iduna Northuldran and knowing everything Which it could be fixed if she forgot her northuldran past as the time passed by until something made her remember everything, which pretty much rhymes with the trainwreck of the story it was. It's obvious they don't have the creative capacity to deal with this franchise.
>Agnar did nothing wrong.
Provably incorrect.
If Elsa "hadn't decided to lock herself up," how the hell would they be considered separated if they were both freely allowed to roam about the castle? Especially with as hard as Anna was trying to get to her? Of course Elsa being in her room was the parents' idea. At the very least they kept her scared enough to where she thought she had to.

>By brainlets who can't remember the first scenes and the dialogue with Gran Pabbie
Why do Agnarr/Iduna apologists always say this as if we don't remember it? GRAND PABBIE SAYING THINGS DOES NOT MAKE AGNARR AND IDUNA BLAMELESS. THEY are Elsa and Anna's parents. THEY have the final word. They hear the creepy troll say ONE thing, ask NO follow up questions (because this clearly isn't an important situation that requires clarification), MISINTERPRET his advice, and then "allow their daughter to lock herself up" UNTIL SHE'S NEARLY 20. Even with Grand Pabbie 50% responsible for the situation - hell, let's give him the full 100%, even! - Agnarr and Iduna are still responsible for being awful dipshit parents who can't think for themselves.

>reeeee, we must destroy white
It's good shit that my interaction with the franchise ended on the first movie, modern Disney is just a bunch of degenerates for whom politics is above all. I hope Corona-chan will bankrupt this shit.
