Talk about a Golden Age of Animation shorts revival that heavily abuses software tweening... people complain about Looney Tunes using software tweening for 10 frames out of a 2000-hand-drawn-frames cartoon. Mickey Mouse is all software tweening all the time.

MM13's tweening is fine, it works well for the show's artstyle and simple character designs
With LTC it's a bit off-putting and jarring in some shorts since they have classical-looking, more complex designs, but with an unnatural looking bounciness or stiffness to it

The Mickey Mouse cartoons were at least funny.

this guy puts it perfectly

>it works well for the show's artstyle
Well yes, if your artstyle is "cheap internet Flash cartoon" then software tweening fits right in.

if you're telling me that looks bad you're a pinhead

>IT'S MUH STYYYYYYLE
Unless you're doing South Park or stop-motion style you have no reason to make your characters look like paper cutouts.

you have no artistic sense of taste
try expanding your horizons a little bit
that webm is really fun and bouncy

t. easily impressed by bouncy paper cutouts

Laziness is not a style

You know what our cartoon need? Characters that look like bouncy paper cutouts!

cool now show another one that isn't a second long

Thick Line Flat Geometric art works a lot better with motion tweens than Thin Line Solid art

Plus Mercury is the king of motion tween stuff, Yowza can't compete

>isn't a second long
Are you dumb? Tweens are BETWEEN poses. Rarely does a transition between poses take more than a second. But stack up a 500 seconds together and you get an entire short made up of software tweens.

>Flat Geometric
Still looks worse with software tweens than without. Even in 3D, when you manually pose a frame it looks better than using reverse kinematic tweening. Hanna Barbera did flat geometric animation with hand-drawn tweens and it looks a fuckton better than software tweens.

i like the new looneytunes and mickey mouse

When a cartoon is funny, you can get away with whatever animation quality you want.

Tweening in itself isn't bad, it's how you use them and how much you rely on them or tweak them yourself afterwards. Just compare the Mickey shorts to Johnny Test. You can't tell me they're both shit for using tweens when the difference in animation quality between them is astronomical.

I don't think anyone who's actually watched old Disney shorts would ever consider the new Mickey Mouse cartoon to be a worthy successor, it's just entertaining on its own merits.

this part felt incredibly out of place

When are we finally getting more Mickey shorts?

Oh nice it's been a while since we've had real autism on this board.

Has it really though?

Because it looks like a John K bit. Great Mickey Mouse is now Ren and Stimpy tier...

They didn't sell well so they were cancelled. Kidding aside why the fuck aren't they on Disney Plus?

I marathoned the new MM shorts on YouTube a few years back. They were a right I guess

When they find a replacement for Russi Taylor I guess
>tfw the last short she voiced was Minnie singing a love song to Mickey

Vore dating, this is my fetish.

Fun fact, Chuck Jones' last animated series was created in Flash.

I like to think that Adobe (or probably more accurately Macromedia) killed him.

Why did they make Goofy a cracked out homeless man?

This is some companywar shit isn't it?

Probably because they're on youtube.

i like the general style of the cartoon, just wished it wasn't animated like a generic youtube flash parody
