It kinda sucks. There is no real feel to it, and the middle section is just a rip-off from Super Mario. OP, I hope you fail your thesis and some industry guys find out you posted it on Zig Forums and you get blacklisted.

I liked it. I'm a sucker for pixel art, and it was well animated with a good musical score. I've got three criticisms though.

First, the story and execution wasn't all that entertaining. The gag with the characters cycling through SMB3 levels is the closest I got to laughing.
Second, this doesn't really look like a lollipop, it's just a white circle on a stick. There's so much blank space, you could have easily given it a swirl or stripes or some sort of texture to make it actually look like candy. Without the context of characters licking it, it's not very clear what it is.

Lastly, you seem to have a very fragile personality. Personally I don't really care about the way artists conduct themselves online so long as they produce quality work, but I know some people do, so keep that it mind.

Do you want to receive good criticism and grow as an artist or are you a little trust fund baby wanting to hear how """good""" he is?

The lollypop looks shit, put a swirl into it and give it a shine. Second, the story is thin and lifeless, at least give a reason why he'd still it instead of "he a bad dood!". Third, relying on nostalgia/retro games/references for your thesis proves you're a lazy hack of a writer. And the final cherry on this turd sunday - don't be a fragile bitch!

Jeez, dude. I'm not gonna be needlessly cruel or anything, but how is it that you didn't expect this response? Have you ever used or heard of Zig Forums at all?
Here are my honest to god thoughts:
Animation was good, colors were very nice and most of the pixel art was pretty good despite not really resembling how retro games actually looked. It more or less feels like you chose the retro pixel art style so you could cut corners a bit. It doesn't help that the midsection where you actually use the Mario style only drives this point home more. The film doesn't feel like a game, it doesn't feel like the pixel art actually serves any purpose. This is a decent piece of animation, and you should be proud, but to act like you have in this thread is not the mark of a secure artist.
