The dead that stayed dead did
Only the none super hero deaths matter.
Shit thread.
That club used to have Barry Allen, Jason Todd and Bucky. I remember they were all talked about as some of the only big name deaths that actually stuck. Now Barry has been back for more than half the time he was dead.
No.
Not even those.
Comics don't matter. Things don't have to matter.
if it's a capeshit death it doesn't
Fuck comic books. They're for manchildren.
The robot chicken sketch on this topic put it into words
They do in a vacuum. Death of Wolverine was a nice simple story that worked.
Resurrection stories rarely do and I would almost prefer if they just had the character show up again with no explanation.
In cape comics? Only two really. In indie comics they matter a bit more.
In general it's just a character taking a vacation until they're needed. Only characters people barely care about stay dead, aside from the perma-dead characters from 30+ years ago. Mutant deaths are a joke and that's before they manage to blatantly cheat death.
If you found yourself here and don't read comics, that means you watch cartoons.
If you watch cartoons, you are either a child or a pedophile.
I'm a Zig Forums tourist. I'm just here to point and laugh about you losers.
Hollywood shill
So you're a pedophile.
Still sad about it....
Go back to your shit containment board.
>They do in a vacuum. Death of Wolverine was a nice simple story that worked.
It didn't, it was generic trash and the fact even Marvel made fun of it right after only made things even more ridiculous.
No
he's still alive inside that shit
Generally not capeshit, if it is written and created by one person then yes a death matters, like in Invincible or Walking Dead, Uber, or any 1 off short story.
If it is a property owned by a mega corporation, you could cash in and kill Superman but now you are not selling 4 Superman comics a month.
Who ever owns the rights to Gwen Stacy can just make money from her Death and her run in Spiderman or create new cannon and profit off the character for years to come.
Marvel killed everyone in the Ultimate universe and then it started sucking.
Magneto died in Genosha - nope he was Zorn all along.
Hawkeye died because of Scarlet Witch - Nope came back as a Ninja
Logan was incased in adamantium - Nope Phoenix powers saved him.
Rogue died in Uncanny Avengers
Xavier was killed by Cyclops now he is back with a goofy helmet.
Jason Todd is close to having been back longer than he was ever dead for.
It’s fucking weird.
Only for Uncle Ben, Thomas and Martha Wayne and Captain Marvel.
Thomas Wayne alive though. And evil.
Only if they are neither DC nor Marvel.
Well fuck.
literally no lol
Death is just a plot device. It can be overcome/sidestepped/ignored as the author sees fit. No one really gives a shit about continuity.
Not really, ever since Superman died death has lost any significant impact.
only one that matters
What makes something "matter" or not?
i mean, all of these related deaths but you know what i mean
No.
Uncle Ben has managed to stay dead hasn't he? The Waynes sometimes make it out alive in alternate universes but imo those don't count.
