Daffy Daffy Duck or Arrogant Daffy Duck?

40s Daffy.

Arrogant Daffy was a gag; the goofy character suddenly acting completely differently, as if he was an actor and the goofy characterization a role. Hence his jealously of Bugs for being a more popular character. But taken too far and too long, the gag loses its meaning. In many latter-day arrogant Daffy stuff he's got a grudge against Bugs for no apparent reason.

53 and 11 are the best.

53 is arrogant with a hint of daffy, 11 is daffy with a hint of arrogant.

Don't know why whoever made this had to cherry pick that Baby Looney Toons abomination. Dodgers is a good representation of the early 2000's designs.

Personally I always preferred the arrogant Daffy. I don't dislike the old screw-ball version, but shouting Woo Woo Hoo wears thin.

Is there a good way to go through all the Warner Bros cartoons? I went through a lot of Disney stuff but I've never really touched classic Warner Bros outside of some bits and pieces.

Either 53 or 11

I have the Golden Collection volumes. Pretty good set asides from a few oddly absent shorts. And I do wish they were organized by date of original release. Instead one disc will be Porky Pig themed, and another will be WW2 themed, and another will only have Clampett cartoons. It's all over the place.

I like the arrogant daffy the most. His personality is very clear and contrasts Bugs, but wacky daffy needs a higher budget to animate and it drove up the quality of his new shorts.

The Looney Tunes Show combined the two perfectly, creating a autistic sociopathic Daffy.

I'd say a healthy mix of both like in Space Jam.

1953 was the hay day, 2011 was the death nel.

Looney Tunes Show was absolutely hilarious, it's just not the type of comedy expected from Looney Tunes shorts. It's definitely better than its follow up, Wabbit/New Looney Tunes, which tries to go for the classic style of comedy but fails at it.

I've never seen Baby Looney Tunes so I can't comment on that, the absolute low of the things I know would be the time Filmation got their hands on Looney Tunes. Looney Tunes meet the Groovy Ghoulies just fucking kills me inside it's so bad.

53 and, maybe WWII Daffy, but that's honestly it.

Yeah I don't get why people just boil it down to him being "arrogant" when it was so much more than that. He's dumb, insecure, lazy, and a diva. He's an asshole to Porky but it comes off more as "mean gay guy" than truly vindictive.

Slapstick is not only not popular anymore but its also kind of dated. It might've been funnier in a more simple too but I look at slapstick kind of stuff now and even if its fun or clever I don't really find it funny.

I'm not sure why turning Looney Tunes into Seinfeld worked so well but it really felt appropriate as a modern equivalent to that type of humor. Despite being more character and writing based rather than gag based its still "looney" and wacky, albeit in a different way.

Its lasted this long because it makes for a much more compelling character. What's so special about a cartoon character that just acts zany? Even if it dimishes a decades old joke, nobody wants to write old-Daffy because then the appeal of writing Daffy is gone.

Goofy Daffy was simple but at least it didn't feel like a fucking self insert of some asshole

What does she see in him?

I am convinced Duck Dodgers is just Daffy channeling William Shatner's Captain Kirk. The Ego Boost and need for attending makes alien women want to be his cocksleeve

But user, alien women actually wanted the Cadet, not captain Dodgers.

Really had to toss in your gay headcanon shit didn't you faggot.

Corkscrew dick.

a mix between 44 and 53 would be perfect.

A combination of both daffy and arrogant.

imagine a sleeve designed to fit a corkscrew

Meme Kirk or actual Kirk?

Aside from the Martian Queen and that one crazy fan that tried to abduct him, most of the other women didn't like him though.
