The white people look ugly too.

Too much Stephen Universe influence in the art style.

Everybody drawn ugly

what do you expect us to say? "realism"?
yes

more importantly is it just me or is this EXACT black magical girl look a trend at this point down to the purple color scheme and the double-afro-buns

It's no so much ugly as it's weird looking, since they went out of their way to make their lips and nose way more realistic than the rest of the design.

That black girl looks kinda hot, while the white girl is ugly af.

>more importantly is it just me or is this EXACT black magical girl look a trend at this point down to the purple color scheme and the double-afro-buns
Dark brown is a classic complementary color to green and purple, which are also complementary to each other, so if you ever go to design class, there's a cool tidbit you can use.

doesnt change the fact that its a trope, this exact design is everywhere

She's having a bad day

So should black and brown characters be drawn to look like palette swapped white people? That's always the vibe I get from social justice people, like it's offensive to portray non-white people with their obvious racial characteristics.

Real life?

Looks fine to me. They look cute.

In a Creek battle royale, which clique would win?

certain details, or just too many details in general, dont tend to look very good in simplistic arstyles, and this one is a good example
the black kid's heads, faces and bodies in general are more detailed which makes the odd proportions even more obvious with their big hands and giant, complex heads and faces on those twiggy but still detailed bodies. meanwhile the two white kids just look like two bricks, theyre very simplistic and so are their faces

so in this case, yes

>Why does this show draw black people so ugly?
dude the fucking idiot friend has an ear on his neck. theyre all drawn weird. the older characters are drawn more "normal" though

the older characters are generally more detailed and can afford to be so
the kids, especially the black ones, have such weirdly detailed and GIANT faces sitting on they skinny little necks and tiny bodies its just fucking odd man

But the white kids look even uglier than the black kids. It's almost like you're saying the black kids are ugly just because they're black.

everyone in the show is ugly, but theres a difference between an ugly person and an ugly character design
a character may not look ATTRACTIVE, but also not confusing or odd to look at. not to mention simplicity is ALWAYS harder to make look bad. the white kids are just that, simplistic enough to look okay. the black kids are odd looking

Why does this show have Black People in the first place?

what does that even mean?
the main characters are black

It's almost as if half the staff worked on Steven Universe

>every non-white character's existence needs to be justified
commit un-life

Probably a joke question, but honestly it seems like CotC exists because somebody noticed there hadn't been a slice of life cartoon about black people in a while. That probably also explains in part why it feels like the show itself doesn't have a lot going on.

BCG has a lot going on, but they can't be black because then people would think you were calling black people rubes. Clarence had a lot going on, but they couldn't be black because then people would have thought you were calling black people retarded. So instead you end up with this kinda bland show whose only defining feature is it has black people in it.

But yeah, there are some oddly shaped human beans on this show.

This show's comedy is just as lame as the one from SU. Sincere and cute humor doesn't equal funny or well written

they're kids man, goofy looks are kind of the route to go. remember clarence?

This show is just a sóy version of Ed Edd n Eddy

Is the real Maryland devoid of black people?

I love how this show outright name drops Ed Edd n Eddy at one point, despite the fact that it wasn't even made by the same company. Craig is made by Cartoon Network Studios, whereas Edds was made by a.k.a Cartoon

>So should black and brown characters be drawn to look like palette swapped white people?

Works for anime

The white kids look inbred. Left is a moldy midget, right looks like a retard hit with a shrink ray and to top it off they're both gingers.

Sewer Kids (strength in numbers)

White guilt

Nah, SU had at least wasted potential.
COTC is just bad

Based

Are you stupid?
Every SJW on twitter and tumblr would tell you to draw them with black features but without red big lips

Holy fucking shit. The language here has been the same shit for several years. It means nothing at this point.

I feel bad for him. But truthfully I wasn't even on those threads. I avoided Craig when it came out, I think I gave the show a "nope" because Craig's purse. I only started watching it recently after a hard binge of episodes
