Its a fucking cowboy snake, thats why

He’s based off of Angel Eyes and has some god tier scenes
>”Care for a drink, Brother?”

this

>>Spend half the movie hyping up a villain as a force of nature.

Here's the important part:

>>Fucking deliver.

He's cool. He has a gatling gun tail and he dragged off the mayor into the desert screaming.

>>Go to Hell!
>>Where do you think I come from? Look into my eyes. I wanna SEE YOU DIE

Holy fucking shit dude

Because this is the best film ever

I love how the Mayor is some dusty old schemer and Jake is a fucking demon from hell. The old man seriously underestimated how evil Noodle Bogeyman was.

It's like a Breaking Bad villain hired Freeza to hench for him

Top notch writing

He said that to my waifu and I still admire him.

>amazing design and voice
>exposed Rango as the liar he was only to encourage him.
>after Rango gained his respect, he then killed the Mayor, who was going to betray him.
I forgot how good this movie was, and i will never understand why Nickelodeon never made a Rango series.

Jake is the villain archtype distilled into a prime form. He's come to kill and he makes no games about that fact. Even when his back was to the wall and a gun was aimed at his face he didn't beg or plead for his life because he lived his life under the knowledge that he'd die like that one day and had accepted it.
He's a killer who knows exactly where he's going and how he'll get there and he don't give a fuck.

It's Once Upon a Time in the West all over again but it still works

They aren't given enough screen time for the director/writer to ruin their character.

someone post a webm of him laughing as he shoots his gatling gun

also the gunpowder smoke little mustachio

You can't make a series out of something so perfect already

>Cowboy rattle snake, complete with two ammo belts
>Gatling gun for a rattle
>Thin gunpowder mustache
>Colossal compared to MC
>Animated using the snake body to it's full effect
>Constantly hyped up and exceeds the hype
>Terrifying lines and delivery
It's a mystery, OP.

He didnt under estimate how evil Jake was. He didnt plan for his scheme to backfire at the point where his double cross was revealed.
Id be pissed too.

Why make a series so that the film loses its integrity ? It works perfectly as a stand alone plot. Some films don't need sequels

Amazing CG for early 2011. I usually don't take the academy awards seriously, but this film deserved to win

also had the VAs act out the scenes they were in to get better reads

Can't believe this movie was written by John Logan, same guy who wrote that mediocre and soulless Simbad movie for Dreamworks. Talk about getting better with time

>other movies CGI gets dated and look like shit
>Frozen’s lighting looks awful now
>Rango is very detailed and still fucking looks good all almost a decade later
How did they do it?

>>Rango is very detailed and still fucking looks good all almost a decade later

Good question...

Easy it was made by a time traveler

To be honest, while I always thought he was cool, the lack of screen time does make her a bit less memorable to me than villains like Lord Shen, Rameses II, Frollo, etc. who get the whole movie to shine.

Because they chose a good aesthetic that withstood the change in animation

>her
I don’t know how I made that mistake

Attached: mayor.webm (720x300, 2.85M)

Was Jake really a villain?
He always seemed more like a “force of nature” rather than a villain

Lord Shen was the only saving grace / memorable aspect of an otherwise straight to dvd material sequel imo

>Water, Mr. Rango, water.
>if you control water, you control life.

Another important factor is they had all their actors show up to actually act it out and then base the film off the acting

He's a sociopath who clearly loves his job. He does show a sense of honor at the end, but he's still a villain

Bird dead. Snake come.

I genuinely think Rango is as close to perfect as an animated movie has ever gotten. It's got top notch pacing, animation, story, writing, acting, I honestly can't think of a single flaw outside of marketing making it look like it's aimed more to kids.

I still think of this when I pour a nice cold glass of water out of a glass bottle

I think it could be a bit tighter. There's a lot of running around that made it feel a little unfocused to me.
