Its already over HBO Max is flopping compared to Disney plus
90k subs to
2 million
not good

max hasnt even been out for a week

All those subs are paying at a higher price point

I remember a podcast over a year ago predicting this problem. Even in times of relative prosperity people don't want to sub for 7+ different streaming services, and now that we're all broke and stuck at home people are cancelling their streaming channels. Execs thought that everyone would drop Netflix since they've lost all of their borrowed content, but instead everyone is dropping Disney+, CBS All-Access and HBO Max because they have nothing new worth watching.

Pitch some ideas for HBOMax shows

Pretty sure the rights to the shorts in What A Cartoon reverted back to their individual creators if the short wasn't picked up for a series.

Steven kills himself on To Catch a Gem.

well seeing as the subs are not going to go up after the first month because there is zero original content I don't see why this is good
disney plus launched with top tier content

All HBO Max has is love life and rick and morty and 1/3 of DC universe's content

WB/AT&T need to stop being greedy
crunchyroll
DC universe
HBO Max
HBO GO

They want all this money funelled in through multiple sources instead of just producing the best service
that's why HBO Max is failing

>The Mandalorian and nothing else
>Top tier content

Spotted the Disney+ shill.

disney plus had 2 million subs the first month
HBO Max is not hitting those numbers
what's interesting is that if HBO Max has those subs then DC universe is probably at like 40k subs or less than that now unless harley quinn the animated series is super popular and generating buzz

The fact that crunchyroll is still kicking despite being stabbed in the back by Funimation is pretty remarkable and a sure sign that they have a niche market pretty much all to themselves

~50 million americans have some branch of HBO, and AT&T is consolidating all of it into HBO Max

the deal was that CN keeps the standalone cartoon to show whenever, but the creators keep the rights to any characters/stories to go on and use in whatever they want

HBO Max is also a free add-on for people already subbed to HBO Now, I think.

That was 90K downloads, and that only counted people who actually downloaded the app and not just updated from Now to Max.

People really believe fake news on any literallywho blogsite they see.

Also know a lot of people were having trouble downloading the app

It was reported by Bloomberg, you literally-who.

Where the fucks the 4K? And the Roku support?

>disney plus launched with top tier content

...like what?

I guarantee you 90% of people signed up because of nostalgia, and then that got old in a week. Many kept subscribed for The Mandalorian but now thats also done. There is nothing there for adults anymore, which is why Disney is shilling that D+/Hulu/ESPN+ package hard now.

Don't forget Verizon's free year.

I have a co-worker who is a huge weeb. He won't watch anime dubbed, only subbed. He only subscribes to Crunchyroll and Netflix. That's it.

So yes, they have a niche anime market for sure that not even FUNimation can touch.

Link me to it then.

BOOYAH

Now re-watch Looney-toons for the 100th time.

>The SensorTower data on HBO Max isn’t complete, since it focuses only on mobile-app downloads and excludes other ways that people can get the service, such as through a cable provider. It also doesn’t count people who got a free upgrade to HBO Max from the previous streaming app HBO Now, which had the same monthly fee.

>WarnerMedia also ran a promotion in the weeks leading up to the launch, offering a year of HBO Max for $12 a month to people who downloaded the app in advance. Those signups also aren’t reflected in the SensorTower data, the WarnerMedia spokesman said.

So I was right.. only counts people who downloaded HBO Max specifically, and not just updated automatically from Now to Max or downloaded Now before the launch for Max.

I got the $12 promo and downloaded Now before Max launched last wednesday, which means my download wasnt counted in that 90K. Lots of factors.
