In something like Brand New Animal? They did the same thing with an animal crime lord, but they actually showed this asshole murdering someone so you are given direct evidence that this is not some misunderstood character, he's a career criminal and you don't want to deal with him and his yakuzas.
Also Beastars also has crime lords and though they're portrayed as emasculated goofballs they still show them doing criminal acts like trying to murder the main protagonist and it was a hell of a scene. A scene where the main lead convinces them that their current boss is corrupt and needs to be overthrowned. The animal yakuzas agree and......they still try to murder him anyway. So yeah anime doesn't fuck around like those assholes at Disney. Disney doesn't ever actually show the consequences which is why Judy is never actually thrown into the freezing chamber.
