Sucks

Sucks.

Adding a 5th turtle is like life support

Jennika or Venus, who's worse

Jennika to me is worse. It's just a human pretending to be one of the ninja turtles. An ugly masculine woman. She also has a boring personality. And it feels very forced like how much Jennika used to hate Splinter and in her comic they reveal that in prison she befriended a rat to show how deep her bond with Splinter truly is.....garbage writing. All to force an older sister character for the turtles.

It's Venus.

Jennika is surprisingly organic for the concept of forcing a background character into the 5th turtle role, Venus is so many different levels of bizarre.

Why does the "muh furry" poster not reply to this post?

In general it feels like more and more characters are forced to be part of the main team. I kinda hope she get pushed off to the b squad with angel and aplex

>All to force an older sister character for the turtles.
Isn't that what April is supposed to be anyway?

For a long time now IDW April? She's been pushed to the background.

Which is odd because her running the Baxter show, I find to be one of the more interesting plot threads

Adding a fifth, female turtle must be on the list of things to do as the series is dying

What's loose ends really need ties up in the series so it can end?

I stopped reading this shortly after Splinter took over the foot clan. What did I miss?

>What did I miss?
A DeviantArt OC got made canon as the 5th Turtle.

>every other turtle sticks to one weapon
>writer says it would be stupid if jennika only used one weapon she was a trained assassin
thats how you make your oc a mary sue if it can not follow the established way the team works then its a mary sue, it would be like if leonardo in the next series had swords daggers and sickle

IDW TMNT became garbage years ago.

>tfw all tmnt cartoons will include her from now on

As terrible as Jennika is, her prescene does not rely on an idiotic retcon.

No, she was supposed to be mom, and a guide to the human world.

Ninja trained in every weapon available. Specialization is weakness when it comes to melee or projectile weaponry. Common sense...to a martial artist. Not so much to people who are just FANS of martial arts (which is just shorthand for people too lazy and undisciplined to actually practice martial arts).

The point I am making though is that it looks bad when Jennika can use very weapon the turtles and then some, makes the turtles look retarded, they could have easily done something involving her mutation to make it so she can not use her old weapons because of her new body and being uncomfortable with it but nope she got used to her body instantly

Her new body IS superior. She's stronger and faster now. The finger thing was a minor obstacle. She can use the turtle's weapons and more because her weapons training was more diverse. She trained in all japanese weapons. Same with ANY elite Foot soldier. Even Alopex realized that training had to be diverse, encouraging the Foot to train in multiple fighting styles, probably taught to do so by Karai, who uses chinese, korean, AND japanese sword styles. You just look like you're nitpicking without actually reading the comic at this point. What's the point of giving her a superior body, then CRIPPLING her? A jack of all trades beats a specialist most of the time.

The weapon thing doesn't bother me much. They're Ninja, they know how to use tons of weapons, they just stick to certain ones for the most part.

I'm not bothered to much by jennika, I think she will be a passing thing. We already had anything there mutated turtle and it was fine

I own every issue of the comic and read them all from issue 1 to 100 its a minor issue but still an issue the turtles also can use multiple weapons, but focus on one, you are missing the point completely, its a comic about 4 turtles each identified by their color and weapon
Leo katanna blue
raph sai red
Donnie bo purple
Mikey chucks orange
Jennika bow, katana, claws, shurriken, what ever the writer or artist wants yellow

thats why it looks bad

They added a fifth ninja turtle?

Ninja were historically mostly just spies who wouldn't train in much that didn't involve just being able to look inconspicuous while trying to overhear things. Weapons they were actually mentioned using were just farming tools or knives mostly, and even then there's no record of any successfully killing someone and escaping, except by starting fires after blocking doors. Real ninja sucked. The idea they were martial artists at all conflated them with Iga warriors, who used guerilla warfare, actual assassins, who mostly poisoned people, and the spies who were farmers or house servants, which were the actual ninja. They got mixed together in kabuki plays. Real ninja were boring as shit. It's cooler to think of specialized martial arts than bland informants and arsonists.

Your post doesn't explain why an older, arguably better-trained and CERTAINLY more experienced person is a problem, outside of "Wah, yellow OC Deviantart!!!"

I'm aware of that. This ain't history. In this FICTIONAL comic, modern ninja are highly trained gangs of assassins that train with ancient japanese weapons for the purpose of killing their enemies and controlling the criminal underworld of their respective areas...should they choose.

The real question is, are the turtles even teenagers anymore?

Jennika was boring as a human and she's boring as a turtle.

Same product, different packaging. Still sucks.

>I was Splinter's ass-kissing assistant for a while, so treat me like your sister now that I'm a turtle!

She damn near worshipped him...think she'd say no if he offered her the D?
