I don't know about you guys but I'm loving this show so far. The music has been great.
I love the increased animation quality whenever they break into song. Their lip movements somehow add to the comedy. Though, it does make Bob's Burgers look much more stiff by comparison.
Also, top left lady was strangely attractive. No idea why. But I loved her line, "How dare you bring up his erectile dysfunction? Screw this whole luncheon, let's wreck this whole function!"
An all-out Bob's Burgers musical with feature-quality animation, yes please

My only real gripe with the show is not being tight/focused enough. Numbers like "Do It While We Can" or "Weirdos Make Great Superheroes" are fun little numbers but do nothing to move the plot forward.
Landon Roberts
I think in those instances, it's not primarily about plot progression but giving insight to the characters and why they're making their decisions as well as what kind of relationships they have with others.
In "Own It," it clearly displays each character's motivations. "Weirdos" gives justification for why Molly is helping her brother reach out to the dog.
As for "Do It while We Can," I suspect it's to develop a connection to the skater who will become more important later on. For now, it's about establishing a positive, respectful relationship between him and Owen.

Does EVERY song have to advance the plot? Sometimes it can just be the calm before the storm.
And the main complaint I've seen is that the show is TOO tightly focused on the overall story, leaving some main characters with weak personalities. Molly is weird, sarcastic with her parents, and likes a boy. That's... it? And Cole is just a blank slate: he likes animals and he likes ice cream. There's no clear reading on his actual personality beyond that. It's sweet that the two siblings help each other out with their respective problems, but Central Park could stand to flesh them out a bit more.
I'll give it a watch. How is it compared to Bob? Comparable to the earlier seasons or the later ones?
Aiden Kelly
Honestly, it's a very different sense of humor with only some overlap. In fact, it's more like the mirrored version of Bob's.
For example, the daughter character, Molly, is also an awkward tween girl who's interested in boys to an almost unhealthy degree. But her fixation is on one particular boy, and she actually acts out on her emotions instead of wallowing in self-pity or being too nervous to do anything.
Overall, the family in this is much more functional, they're just in a unique position of being the managers of the park.
The humor in Bob's Burgers was more about puns, wordplay, and making the most mundane events seem very important, all fueled by the character's quirky personalities. . In this show, the humor comes from the music and the character's relatable personalities, fueled by the events around them with a sprinkle of wordplay.
Also, the animation budget is a huge step up. It's very noticeable.

>Paige Hunter Anyone else notice this? Did she not take her husband's name or does she only go by her maiden name when at work?
This show is milk toast. Nothing interesting besides the musical aspect of it. There's no nuance to the jokes; so the delivery doesn't make you laugh, so much as it makes you look up from your apple device and go "Heh. I got that. Funny.". The plots felt more contrived than organic. And maybe I'm too used to Bob's Burger animation, but the faux way they try to pass off body language through animation is off putting. I wish they would have gone for a more cartoonish premise not so grounded in reality. Like if they took the same concept, but mashed it with Ugly Americans-type world.
>"Omigosh! Siri set my alarm for Floor 15 instead of 4:15!"
Watched 10 seconds of it, heard Josh Gad, and noped the fuck out. I don't know if it's the fact that he's been in everything lately, but his voice doesn't fit 2D animation to me.
Ethan Brown
Would you give it another chance if I told you he's just a narrative framing device and isn't much of a major character?
Jackson Murphy
Have you ever seen anything with H. Jon Benjamin? The only difference here I can think of is that his line reading was a lot more rapid, likely due to the stressful situation his character was in, but it wasn't anything too weird in my opinion.
I'm enjoying Central Park, but I'd be lying if I said the catchy music and lively visuals aren't making me even more curious and impatient toward that Bob's Burgers movie. Apple should be done airing Season 1 sometime in August, so I'm hoping we have new info or promo images by then to hold us over until next April.
