Remember when Iron Man killed people?

FUCK. It really was amazing.

What rock were you living under?

Phase 1 of the MCU had so much soul. But when Iron Man 2 came out you could start to see it leaking and it was never the same when Avengers first came out.

Look at that terrified fuck right before he gets his ribs caved in. He probably wasn't even meaning to shoot, he was having a fucking panic seizure.

MCU is arguably the most popular franchise alive in film right now and you're on a website known for being filled full of edgy contrarians, no shit you're not gonna find too much genuine love for the films here.
I'm not pretending it's a perfect series of course, i have a ton of gripes with it, but really the only objectively bad films to me were Avengers 2, Civil War, Black Panther, and Captain Marvel. Hell I even found Thor 2 mildly entertaining, and despite pic related, I found the Spiderman films genuinely good times too.

I'm not allowed within 75 yards of elementary schools

Probably the only MCU movie I've watched more than twice, its a shame the other 2 movies couldn't take expand on what was based here, i.e a majority of Tony's problems coming from his recent fuck ups, whiplash should've been written out and have Hammer as the primary villain, and Iron Man 3 could've gone down a better route than AIM and their exploding soldiers. That being said the only real weak part to the first movie was just the final act's resolution but aside from that it truly is a spectacle.

MCU became too much of just a brand after Avengers

Honestly Civil War and Black Panther was okay, I'd argue Ant Man and the Wasp was worse than either of those two, but then again its probably because im not a big fan of how it played out.

>10

I fucking hate Thor 1, but Walk by Foo Fighters playing over the end credits will always be a precious memory to me for some reason.

>but really the only objectively bad films to me were Avengers 2, Civil War, Black Panther
Are you fucking insane?

The only thing wrong with AOU is Ultron isn't menacing enough (still vastly better then a bunch of other villains in the mcu) and there isn't a god damn thing wrong with Civil War.

Ironman always killed people in the MCU, even in Ironman 3. He's not Spider-Man

I thought they were both lame and wasted potential honestly.
Avengers 2 had its great moments yeah, but as a whole it felt kind of bloated to me with just how much they packed into it. I wish Vision was more developed, especially in hindsight with how little screentime he had before getting axed in Infinity War. And, look I'm not gonna pretend I'm some uber comics nerd because I'm not, but you know an Ultron I totally love? The one from Avengers: EMH. THAT Ultron was fucking great, and something at least vaguely on the same wavelength was what I expected from Ultron in the film, but he kinda acts like some regular joe. Some people like him but to me, it feels like a betrayal of his potential.
A lot of things about Civil War made no sense to me, but without getting into nitpicking Tony's motivations (and complaining about the dumb final Iron Man vs Cap fight), I mainly just wanted more hero fights (the airport was a boring location) and a better Zemo. I mean on his own in the film, he was perfectly fine, but like he's just some guy, not Zemo.
At least Black Panther was great in it.

Only MCU movie I'd recommend honestly. A lot of them really feel like watered down versions of this.

>I found the Spiderman films genuinely good times too.
Nah, they sucked dick

We thought it was obvious given the franchise it began.

Oh sure. Iron man kills dozens of fucking jihadists nobody blinks.

Superman kills one Space-Nazi? Everyone loses their minds!

We've been saying it for years, you contrarian fucks just don't listen.

MCU is full of casual murder, Spider-Man is the only one who has any qualms about killing.

Because after seeing how the rest of the MCU turned out, people forget that the first Iron Man movie was actually good

Because Zod is actually likable. There's nothing likable about muslims in real-life so no one cares about fictional muslims getting killed.

Because nobody gave a fuck about Iron Man before the movie. With Superman, people have expectations about how he should be

Actually, the Zod reaction baffles me cause Superman really did straight up kill him in the comics. In a slower, more painful way, no less.

You think people read comics? Your naivete is almost endearing.
And yeah, killed his ass with kryptonite.

>Iron Man 1 is a surprisingly direct criticism of the military industrial complex
>HAHA TONY SHOOT MUSLIM!!!!!

>feel bad for muh poor innocent muslims
Get fucked, bitch. Remember lads, subscribe to Pewdiepie.

this but unironically
barring pewdiepie

Iron Man 1 is still one of the top 3 best MCU movies.
It did so many things right. Perfect casting, mailing the update of the origin story, great chemistry between the actors, taking it's time introducing the world without ever slowing the pace, setting up future movies while still being a standalone film, great writing, listening to what fans wanted but knowing not be enslaved to their whims, and cutting what wouldn't work for today's audience (the secret identity) while still staying true to the character.
