I watched it yesterday in chunks, didn’t expect to watch the whole thing but it’s pretty well-informed.
Basically the footage with similar shots a lot of people use as proof is from a film released after Lion King was already released. The older show’s similarities are mostly just tropes that it would be inevitable Lion King would hit them because the show uses so many. There’s only so many animals you can use for a story set in Africa, and Kimba uses so many that no matter what animals Lion King chose, someone could make the comparison that LK “stole” those animals from Kimba. And even then the story/characterization of these animals is completely different in Kimba.
Of course there’s more, but that’s just a couple things I can think of off the top of my head.
