Sure

Depends.
If you want it to treat the source material (old school horror icons) then yeah. Completely shits all over them.

If you look at it like a cartoon movie it's great the movement of the characters, slapstick, and looks great.

As an Adam Sandler movie it's hard to listen to Sandler impression of bela lugosi the whole movie.

>cartoon movie
This. The first one was decent, even if the dance number at the end felt a bit tacked on purely for the sake of following the current trend. Invisible man even had some fairly good jokes.

Haven't gotten around to watch 2-3 yet, because I'm too lazy to look for them and I'm not watching the yifi shit that gets posted in the occasional sharethread when I request them.

Agreed, the 3 of them.

Mavis is pretty much the only good part of the movies. And the cute thing the werewolf pub and the dhampire has going on.

Problem with Johnny is that he's so.... uninteresting and bland. Most people who waifu Mavis forget about him.

The relationship between Johnny and Dracula carries the first movie.

I feel the same about Mavis. She's cute and all but she was boring too. " HOLY RABIS! " "WHAT A BLAST" felt like her only lines in the second movie.

The vampires in the series don't really feel like vampires as well. They feel more like sorcerors than vampires. Humans with pointy fangs really. Nothing to distinguish them.

the second one was actually decent, the first and third suck some serious shit.

I've been avoiding watching the Hotel Transylvania series because you guys told me it was bad. Recently watched Hotel Transylvania 3 and YOU GUYS LIED TO ME!

It wasn't a great movie or anything, but it was certainly entertaining enough to kill 90 minutes. And Captain Erika is a great Waifu, loved her animation! Actually I just loved Captain Ericka in general, if anyone made a CGI popeye cartoon, they'd animate it like Captain Erika was animated.

Opposite for me. First has great character moments and third has animation for days. Second seriously has some dogshit characte designs and looks bland.

>if anyone made a CGI popeye cartoon, they'd animate it like Captain Erika was animated.
BRUH

>Hotel Transylvania was a bad movie
Yeah, but the porn, tho.

i spared myself sequels

they dont bother to age the characters up that's bullshit

>if anyone made a CGI popeye cartoon
too soon, user

More news at 11.

>Problem with Johnny is that he's so.... uninteresting and bland. Most people who waifu Mavis forget about him.
Opposite actually. I like Johnny. I feel like people overlook that he's the first human to step inside the hotel. That he's searched the world for something he doesn't know. That he's so far out humanity that he's perfectly at home with monsters. They even reinforce how much of of an outsider he is in the second when we meet his family.

Mavis on the other really needs to grow up. In the first one it's cute, but really by the third movie with a kid, she shouldn't be hitting pinatas.

>The vampires in the series don't really feel like vampires as well. They feel more like sorcerors than vampires. Humans with pointy fangs really. Nothing to distinguish them.

they're just metaphors for jews in the films.

3 is ok because it focuses on Drac, Ericka and Mavis. Everything gets better the more it doesn't focus on Johnny.

Sony has some seriously talented animators. They just need more consistently good writers.

thats some nice head canon, but its not really explored in the movies.

Most of the time they flanderize him as a dumb idiot so you will be sympathetic to drac for not wanting his daughter to marry him. They do such a great job of this, that most people assume she marries him because he ist he first guy to sling her some cock, much like many teen girls that marry too young.

Something I really did not like was the whole "blood substitute" thing. Either fully commit to the vampirism or don't. Don't pussy out.

It was objectively bad, but I still enjoyed it.

It's the opposite for me, Mavis is boring while the guy just bounces of the other character weirdness perfectly.
Mavis has one joke, Human jokes adapt to the character he is on screen with.

It's a bad movie but it has SOUL

It’s back anons

How would you explain how Dracula and the other vampires keep themselves fed then?

Dracula has a cohort of vampires constantly hypnotizing humans into "donating" to a blood bank.

The movie esablished that they zinged, that they fell in love at first sight. It's a fantastical concept, but it's canon nontheless.
The movie portrays the monsters as old and stuck in tradition, so Johnny, an up-to-date trekker is the most interesting thing to ever happen in 100 years.
He's shown to be carefree and noisy, and emhathizing with Drac isn't hard; but he's exciting and, more importantly a human.
It's a big part of the movie how Dracula has to get over his "disdain" for humans and his overprotectiveness, and what would make a daddy more overprotective than their little daughter being in love?

I found it super weird that their mouths all move but chins stay the stll.
