How would you react to a black Batman? Whether it be a show, movie, or the comics after the next crisis or whatever?

How would you react to a black Batman? Whether it be a show, movie, or the comics after the next crisis or whatever?

Or even Superman?

It already happened in Stan Lee's version of Batman but it's just too much like Black Panther which is already inspired by Batman anyway so really it would be rather disrespectful to the source material if they made Batman black.

Why would the source material or original writers care if Batman was black?

Don’t care, if he’s good. Though while a black Batman might work, a black Bruce Wayne who pretends to not care about poor people might seem tone deaf.

Superman, I will always associate with looking like Reeve. Even Henry’s “curls” in some scenes threw me off.

Making Aquaman an islander and Wondy non-American sold those characters more to me. While I’m okay with a bisexual Barry Allen, Ezra is a trash person, even before choking that fan.

He can rape the Joker with his big black cock now

I can accept a black Batman only if the Joker is also black.

>cop kills bruce father
>vows to be better than cops and takes on the mantle
i could see it

The fans care, that's what matters most.

Grant Morrison said a black Batman wouldn't because work because such a big part of Bruce's character is that he comes from old money.

>How would you react to a black Batman?
I wouldn't

Black Batman wouldn't be any different that any other batman

>white guy says character cant be black
big surprise

Bruce’s parents now died in the 80s in modern interpretations

We’re only 10-20 years away from that being 2000 or 2001, where Thomas Wayne could realistically be a black CEO

The same white dude who invented black Superman, I don’t think he’s racist
I think it could work, Grant is just slightly ignorant

If the Joker is black, he has to be played by Billy from Double Toasted. Have you heard this nigga laugh?

He's right tho, besides that's what alternate realities are for, Batman being black in mainline continuity would be too much of a rip-off of Black Panther which is itself a rip-off of Batman.

Well I'm not a racist, so I'd be fine with that.

coming from old money has literally never been a part of any live action batman except maybe Batfleck but no one gives a fuck about Snyder's Batman

If you want to change the race of a character who has been established for decades perhaps you are racist.

Apathy.

That's literally how the Wayne's made they're money tho, from the early days of the US.

>but it's just too much like Black Panther
How? If anything he's Luke Cage except without superpowers.

Seriously? You're blind then.

I'd make a new character instead who's black and like Batman but has his own unique traits and weapons. Changing an established character's race is disrespectful to both races.

Black harley quinn oh wait will still need her to be white black chicks are ugly.

*their

yes, in the comics.

What about Robin?

There's already a Batwing.

shittiest thread on Zig Forums right now

The films are based on the comics yes, something as fundamental as that doesn't change.

Been done with Duke Thomas, he's shit
And everyone hates Batwing.

Then explain to me how an ex-con who made his money by being a professional wrestler to get revenge on the gangster who set him up is like Black Panther?

>would you be ok with a black Batman?
Only if something interesting was done with the idea. I find it extremely annoying to have the writers just change the race of a character without actually doing anything interesting with the concept. Maybe something like this:
> Alternate Gotham in 2579
>Gotham is now like Megacity One
>Police act like Judges but are still corrupt as Hell
>No Jim Gordan around to try and rein in the worst of it
>parents get killed by cop
>they're obviously innocent but the cop gets away with it
>new Batman vows to expose the corruption
>goes on a crime speed to prove general incompetence of cops (maybe during a pivotal lawmaking time)
>fences stolen goods (that he took from dirty cops) and gives them to the poor
>pisses off corrupt cops while younger non-corrupted cops support but don't condone him
>sets up a scenario to get corrupt cops to show their true intentions while cameras secretly videotape and stream it nationwide
>his job done, Batman lets one of the non-corrupt police capture him

Tyler the Creator as Joker, yay or nay?

You're talking about Stan Lee's version of Batman? He made them both black and Black Panther is already heavily inspired by Batman.

>And everyone hates Batwing II.
fixed
The first Batwing was good, Luke Fox was shit

You could technically be old money and black (Or rather, mixed), but you'd be a pretty recent branch of the aforementioned dynasty.
If the Wayne family patriarch had a scandalous fling with a Negress in the 20's and their mixed kid was still such a social pariah that he got with another black woman in the 40's/50's, you could feasibly have Thomas Wayne look pretty black.

Seems like a lot of effort to me, though, when you could just build a new superhero from the ground up.
