Because Karl is not TRYING to be funny. It's his actual thought processes, and they are genuinely funny on their own.

Never liked Zach, he is the embodiment of "LOUD WEIRD VOICE = FUNNNIIIIIII" and it just isn't funny at all, his voice is also so fucking annoying I genuinely can't stand to hear him talk for more then a few seconds.

their humor is not even similar. that said, zach is funnier. imo zach hadel is the funniest person in the world. EVERY single joke he makes is funny without him even trying

Zach has the blessing of a funny voice, alongside his pretty large vocab for the average jokester-- makes for unique and out-of-left-field jokes. Gotta love em.

they're both so funny in very different ways that it's very hard to compare who is funnier but if we measure their humor by how much I laugh when watching them I would say Zach since he makes me laugh more often than Karl but Karl can usually make me laugh harder than the average Zach joke some times

This is apples and oranges. Both are funny. Karls humor derives from being the worlds greatest straight man and honestly whimsical takes on things.

Zach is funny for just the creative way he eggs people on and goats out conversation

Both are great but Karl's blend of 10 WIS and 1 INT makes for a special kind of humor and interaction very few people can replicate.

I didn't know you can be the straight man and the fool at the same time yet Karl achieves this effortlessly.

Karl is probably a bigger normie filter, Zach catches the sperg group.
They both seem to be pretty 2 dimensional with their styles but I guess that's because they both respectively found their crowd and they found a formula. I'd say Zach is funnier though.
