>"I wanted to kind of make [Rorschach] like, 'Yeah, this is what Batman would be in the real world.' But I had forgotten that actually to a lot of comic fans that smelling, not having a girlfriend—these are actually kind of heroic. So actually, sort of, Rorschach became the most popular character in Watchmen. I meant him to be a bad example, but I have people come up to me in the street saying, 'I am Rorschach! That is my story!' And I'll be thinking, 'Yeah, great, can you just keep away from me and never come anywhere near me again for as long as I live?'" >—Alan Moore
Bold words coming from a guy whos druid wives cut him out of the relationship to run off together and is ridiculously salty about the existence of Harry Potter.
Lucas Hughes
>this is what Batman would be in the real world
No, Rorschach is what Batman would be if Batman was poor. How did Moore fuck up his own character interpretation?
Ian Ross
Moore meant that rich people don't bother with something as stupid as "playing the hero". Only a poor man could become Batman in real life.
John Martinez
I'm also salty about the existence of Harry Potter, so what?
If he ever said that it was probably as a respons to some SJW journalists attempt to do some guilkt by association. He is a leftist and a cuck after all.
That he is a great writer, but he doesnt really know why he is a great writer. He is blind to his own person and inept to define; analyse his stuff. He is like Pepe creator, who doesnt understand why this character is successfull and cant create another character that is similar successfull!
Rorschach can simultaneously be a creepy unhygenic schizo and an admirably uncompromising moralist in the face of evil. These are not mutually exclusive.
Brayden Phillips
Basically an idiot savant
Evan Taylor
And I doubt that anyone who actually read the comic see any of the characters as heroes. I think if anyone is doing that it is because they only watch the movie, which was very different in tone. The movie Rorschach is a whole other character and that isn't what Moore is commenting on.
Jeremiah Flores
Perhaps not, but it creates uncomfortable implications about the relativity of good and evil that most would rather not dwell upon
Brody Turner
I see Rorschach, Nite Owl, and Silk Spectre (the second) as heroes. I've only read the comics, never debased myself by watching the film.
Jayden Brooks
And here come all the autist Rorschach fans he's talking about.
Gabriel Gray
There's nothing wrong with being autistic.
Cooper Martin
Hence why Ozymandias quits being a costumed hero.
Tyler Perez
What do you mean, Ozymandias was the biggest hero of them all, he saved the entire world.
Leo Hughes
>an admirably uncompromising moralist
People who say this are completely oblivious to the fact that Rorschach was a walking hypocrite who keeps compromising repeatedly throughout the story and then chooses to suicide by cop at the end. You're blind to his faults and just go "awww he's so cool!" while showing a surface level understanding of the character.
Ryder Barnes
I like Rorschach as a character. I don't admire him because the guy isn't admirable when you stop to think about his actions and methods beyond how he kicks ass.
Matthew Watson
There are NO HEROES!
Carter Parker
And when no one is a hero, everyone will be.
Jeremiah Moore
>never debased myself by watching the film. imagine being this fucking pretentious about the content you consume
Bentley Gomez
In what way were they heroic?
Jonathan Russell
Than you are dumb, because it is better than your average novel companies publish, and childish, because who cares if someone likes that cookiecutter book series!
Logan Phillips
Indeed. Or how can you explain LoEG with Harry Potter while he made before and afterwards very good LoEG books!
Jayden Peterson
Me too. But i dont see them as Jesus like Hero but like Zeus, with very human flaws.
They fought for justice and helped people even if they harm themself.
Jace Hill
There is nothing admirable about being an uncompromising moralist when said morals are retarded
Landon Howard
We keep having this thread every day.
Thomas Bailey
>complaining about people complaining about Harry Potter while doing the same boring complaining about Alan Moore
