I find it pretty sad that no one here is reading nor talking about Humphries's Harley Quinn book. It's actually a hidden gem that's ending pretty soon, and yet all this board wants to talk about is the cancer adaptations the character is unfortunately associated with and the crap from New 52, or Tom King like that's the only content we got. It seems like all I ever hear now are the same outdated complaints for the sake of distancing ourselves from casuals because she's popular right now. The pendulum swings both ways, and I'd argue Harley books are going back to quality.
Harley Quinn
You say it's good then post a screencap of stupid, shitty tumblr I'm-so-quirky dialogue.
user look at her eyes. In context she's a bit drunk, and using comedy to hide her feelings. She's actually on the verge of a nervous breakdown
>on the verge of a nervous breakdown
Really? From what?
I like Harley a lot personally! She's somehow simultaneously overrated and over-hated. But I do appreciate it when she's written well.
Well recently she started pro-wrestling, and a friend of hers was murdered. This was just after Harley's mom died of cancer too (she doesn't hang out with her family much anymore either). Since then she's been on a self-destructive drunken bender trying to find the killer, mostly for her friends daughter who now has to deal with bills and stuff piling up. At one point she finds a suicide note, thinking she wasn't really murdered, which then Harley planned to kill herself during a wrestling match until she pieced together who actually killed her friend.
Oh, and I guess I should mention in that panel she's currently throwing herself at Booster Gold trying to bury her issues with quick sex
Taking Harley Quinn seriously as a character is impossible so none of that matters.
>Harley's mom died of cancer
Sounds like the bitch finally got (some of) what she fucking deserves. If only she'd actually gone through with the suicide, that'd be the perfect end for her.
See this is what I'm talking about, you guys are just content on hating the character regardless of who writes her or what happens in the story. I had to fucking tell you guys current events for crying out loud
You're wasting your time man, just enjoy the storytimes while it lasts.
Exactly. Learn from this experience and realise that no-one will ever give your character a chance outside Tumblr/twitter ever again. That's just the truth of it, you're wasting your time trying to talk about her here.
I feel for you user. But you were optimistic to think you'd get any sympathy from here. Anything popular, Zig Forums hates it. Anything good, Zig Forums hates it. Anything left leaning Zig Forums hates it. And they'll hate things randomly as well and never let go of the hate.
Hey it's not Quinnpool
Or we can make fun of you for being posers. This is a comic and cartoon board, people are going to want to discuss comics.
Sorry Harlanon, I like her a lot too though. Being a Harley fan on Zig Forums is suffering. But at least she has a good amount of content with her produced so we can enjoy that.
Remember when we weren't Zig Forums?
Zig Forums doesn't hate that stuff, Zig Forumsacks who are here to spread their nihilistic authoritarian right views hate that stuff.
Sorry man, if Harley hadn't the second worst push in comics in the past few years, losing only to Carol Danvers, maybe I'd give a shit, but as it stands it's corporate mandate garbage.
I suppose so. I even understand the hate too. We went through a crappy few years where Harley was finding her own identity during the New 52, put up with shitty adaptions, and of course that Tom King shit where Harley SOMEHOW beats the Trinity for fuck sake. Compile all that with casual popularity and DC pushing her like Marvel did with Deadpool and Wolverine, and I totally understand why people are burnt out.
Oh shut the fuck up. It's ridiculous that you think you can hold a grudge against a good comic just because.
It would've been perfect, though. Lolsorandumb "reformed" thot who wants to pretend she's both a hero and a villian so she can get attention from both sides
>Dies painfully and in misery
>Suffers from the consequences of her immeasurable self-righteousness and vanity
>Dies, not in glorious battle like a villian or in fond public memory like a hero, but in front of a motley cast of nobody OCs that have forever populated her stories, to be forgotten in the sands of time like a particularly large turd in the wind
>We went through a crappy few years where Harley was finding her own identity during the New 52
I'd argue she wasn't so much finding it as she was just given Deadpools but I can appreciate that a writer has come along to fix her
Even if it will just get swept away like tears in the rain when the run is over
>It's ridiculous that you think you can hold a grudge against a good comic just because
You know that's not the case
So is Humphries done with the book or is it just ending so he can get a #1? Who would they get to replace him?
The hypocritical duality of Zig Forumsnservanerds:
>"It's so awesome when Doctor Doom is treated like a hero! Such good, BASED writing! Like, I know that Doctor Doom has killed millions of innocents and hasn't ever been punished in any way, but Doctor Doom has such gravitas and complexity that I can see why the other heroes would just forgive him and treat him like the rightful GOD-EMPEROR he is! Make Mine Marvel!"
>"Why is Harley Quinn being treated like a hero? This is ridiculous! This is bad, bad writing! Harley Quinn was once a henchwoman of The Joker, she is, therefore, one of the biggest monsters in comic books, completely irredeemable! Harley Quinn should be punished for her heinous crimes, like all male villains are! Such libtard virtue signaling!1!"
TOMMY SHUT YOUR FUCKING MOUTH
Look, I like Harley but your complaints are ridiculous and repetitiive.
One thing I never understood is why the "No Tommy stop" pic is Namor he's clearly far more obsessed with Doom
Reed once sent Doom to be tortured in fucking hell by demons, Tommy. I can't remember Batman so much as bruising Harley.
Just filter the image hash, don't give him the attention that he wants.
Yes, I like how they just realized the crazyness of the character is inevitable and just had fun with it.
Still want to see if we will get some meta staff
But I love Tommy, user. I'm just too shy to admit my feelings for him (ᴗ͈ˬᴗ͈)
The last current story arc-where Harley is going through those cosmic trials and her mom has cancer is emotional heart wrenching narrative and an instant underrated classic.
Petite tina is a cute and so is Minor Disaster even if the writing for Major disaster was a bit wonky imo.
>Look, I like Harley but your complaints are ridiculous and repetitive.
Immediately after destroying Wakanda, Namor was punished by... being invited to join the Avengers.
Immediately after murdering Ant-Man's daughter, Dr. Doom was punished by... being trusted by Reed and Sue to raise their daughter.
Immediately after being caught working for the Joker, Harley Quinn was punished by... going to Belle Reeve, maximum security prison, and having to work for the Suicide Squad, which she does since 2011.
DAMN! Male villains really have it hard, huh?
You'll never be loved by anyone Zig Forumsnservanerd
I shouldn't laugh at a character as stupid as "The Hambezzler", but I do.
Also do not engage him
It is an insult to The Joker's legacy that he is affiliated with someone as trash as Harley. The Joker deserves better than her, and better than Punchline.
