Out of all the fairly well done inclusion in the show, Shep feels the most pandery and awkwardly forces. A bland gender fluid person with virtually no intriguing character quirks who solves the episodes problem in the most inoffensive way possible. The hero of the day for it's own sake. It's like how writers who want to have black characters nowadays without running the risk of offending someone just makes them some flavor of bland. Felt shoehorned, Sadie's new LI could have been absent and nothing would have changed.
