Lower Decks

When is it coming out and how great will the porn be?

Also, can the Co-Creator of Solar Opposites really save Star Trek from all this STD/Picard bullshit?

Dead on arrival.

No one knows, and no one knows. I have hope for this one, I truly hope it's good. Disco season 1 was rocky but solid, disco season 2 might have been the best overall season of Star Trek period, it was amazing, but then Picard takes a big shit and sucks dick.

I hope it's good.

I hope it got canceled because it looks extremely shitty.

Very cool! I pee on cat she hiss at penis haha

It just looks like Reddit and Memey threw up on Trek. It won't be good

i want to

FUG

the GREEN GIRL

In all honesty, the rumors that MacFarlane is angling for taking control of Star Trek is probably the only thing that could save it in the near future.

>Disco season 1 was rocky but solid
S1 was better than S2, and S1 is literally ripping off someone's sci-fi novel down to the water bear, brown protagonist and gay couple.

The Orville is better

Reminder that Star Wars has always been better since at least 2000 and 7

Is The Orville really that good?

I hear it's a better Star Trek, but I hate it when Seth McFarlane tries to take it too serious in a comedic world/set up like in A Thousand Ways to Die.

I hope that it is at least passable.

Setting aside aesthetic and canon issues, S1 went through 4 showrunners and it showed badly, S2 torpedoe'd itself by being lurching hard into "see guys, we're really Star Trek" while not actually fixing any of the problems people had with S1 in regards to narrative. If they had stuck to their guns regarding their creative decisions and had been willing to be a side-canon Discovery wouldn't have had nearly enough flak as it got. It wouldn't have saved it from the poor plots, underdeveloped characters, or the fact that they were under some apparently insane contractual demands to put out a Star Trek show that had a percentage cap on how much it could be like a Star Trek show, but at least it would have lived and died as its own thing. Picard is just a dumpster fire being made by people who should know better.

Pike carried the entirety of S2 on his back and in all likelihood retrospectives of the series will point to him as being the actual highlight of Discovery.

The Orville is fantastic as a spiritual successor t TNG. However, Seth did a bait and switch where he billed it as a comedy/parody of Trek, so it feels a lot more grating towards the beginning. It eventually drops the heavy angle and just becomes an extremely solid 90s era trek show. Some comedy is still there, but it's decidedly not a comedy show by that point.

General consensus is that MacFarlane probably had to pitch it as Family Guy meets Star Trek to get it off the ground, but the setting itself is well-grounded and the comedy noticeably drops off as the first season progresses. It still has much more levity than ST, but the setup and tone of the humor has shifted.

Show looks and sounds like it will be hot garbage, and barely be startrek related at all. Buuuuut I want porn because green nipples.

BORTUS GAY

I'm sure Lower Decks will be shit but I'll still watch it out for the fap material.

He should hire those hack-frauds from Wisconsin as consultants.

What kind of fap material are you even hoping of getting from that?
The style looks like shit.

>disco season 2 might have been the best overall season of Star Trek period
I want you to know I hate you on a personal level. You and everything you stand for.

Bortus comes from a forced monosex species. Who's practices for that have been growing to be more disruptive over the first two seasons. Season three will likely have some kinda open conflict over the forced culling of females.

Well can't be worse than Picard

I like that there is a Caitian character. Shame they don't show up more but I can understand the limitations behind why not in regards to live action.

Couldn't be any harder than a show dedicated around hating some spoonheads

Maybe, but I mean getting actors to go into makeup to have prosthetic fur added would probably be more time consuming and stressful for the actors than the prosthetics/time in makeup for some one getting a spoon glued on their head and despite wanting more Caitians I also don't want to see some cgi abomination super imposed into scenes either. Either way, its probably for the best they are religated to cartoons, comics, books and games.

Who hurt you?

do people really actually hate star trek animated?

watched it and really was not as bad as people make it out to be, was it the victim of diehard OG trekkies who didnt like it or something?

I refuse to see Picard as a failure because some parts were actually great and I can't ditch it all because it's like ditching Best of Both Worlds because Code of Honour.

In some ways it's pretty experimental, using animation to explore concepts beyond the ability of live action to portray, and that's neat. Yesteryear stands toe to toe with anything else in TOS.

I think we'll look back on it as popcorn filler. Not good, not bad, just something to watch when there's nothing else to do.
